Overview

EUDAI Hub will launch in the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania). Building on 4 years of community work, events, and meetups, the focus for the coming years will be to foster a community around decentralized AI across Europe. The initiative aims to engage large organizations, universities, startups, and open-source developers. Rather than concentrating on a single community, the goal is to unite diverse groups, beginning with the Cardano and Deep Funding communities and integrating Baltic developers early on. With open-source AI advancing rapidly, it is a strategic opportunity to attract more contributors to Deep Funding from various backgrounds. Collaboration is the key.

We are seeking individuals to lead and manage Deep Funding Community Hub initiatives. These initiatives aim to establish and foster decentralized Deep Funding Communities centered around specific topics or areas of interest where a dedicated community would be valuable. Examples of potential hubs include:

  • Sustainability Community Hub
  • Women in AI Community Hub
  • Africa Community Hub
  • Asia Community Hub
  • French-Speaking Hub.
  • Among many other options
The primary objective of these Community Hubs is to expand Deep Funding in a decentralized way. This involves engaging new members, providing information, sharing best practices for submitting funding proposals and building strong, collaborative communities. Regular online meetings will also be an integral part of these initiatives to connect, grow, and support the community.

Project details

We aim to bring community power to DeefFunding for decentralized AI space in EU, starting out from Baltics. Goal is to unite different communities and bring more proposals and developers, also enthusiasts into the decentralized AI and Deep Funding era.

PERFORMANCE METRICS

Community Growth and Engagement

  1. Number of Events Organized:

    • Total events (3 meetups, 3 online events) held in the Baltics: 6.

  2. Event Participation:

    • Total number of attendees at events: we aim for 40 people for each event, but depending on the market, virus seasons etc it can be more or less.

    • New vs. returning participants: we hope to have at least 10 new people at every event from different areas.

  3. Community Membership:

    • Growth in Deep Funding community - after 6 months we would be happy to see at least 6 proposals created by the people that we have onboarded, but we hope for more.

    • We aim to have an active Telegram group with all the event attendees. After 6 months we want to see around 100 engaged people in the TG group, but we hope for double.

    • We want to see growth in asking and researching in Deep Funding Discord channel.

  4. Collaborations Initiated:

    • Partnerships with universities, organizations, and startups. Giving stage and pitch opportunity to startups, tech teams, talks, researchers and for discussions; during every event having at least 3 collaboration partners engaged.

    • During every event having speakers and attendees from Deep Funding and from SingularityNET, also from Cardano etc to show the real faces behind the big names, to build trust.

Impact on the Broader Ecosystem

Awareness and Visibility:

  • Media mentions, social media engagement, and articles published about the hub.

  • Increase in discussions around decentralized AI in European tech communities and in policy making.

Sustainability and Scalability

  1. Funding Secured:

    • Amount of funding secured through Deep Funding, sponsorships, or donations.

    • Diversification of funding sources.

  2. Volunteer and Member Contributions:

    • Number of active volunteers contributing time or resources: during every event having 2 volunteers for operations and marketing.

  3. Expansion Beyond the Baltics:

    • During the first 6 meetups, securing new initiatives and collaboration projects for the future 6 months.

USEFULNESS

To expand the reach of Deep Funding, it is essential to engage developers beyond the existing community. As we are beginning from Baltics, the Baltics have a thriving tech and startup ecosystem, making it a strategic region to bring in new developers, researchers, and innovators. This proposal aims to create a bridge between Web3 communities, universities, and startups, offering a structured approach to onboarding new talent into the ecosystem.

A balanced approach of three offline and three online events will be crucial to give access to those who can not take part in offline meetups. Keeping offline only for locals is beneficial to create the FOMO effect to have more people in online events. Meetups —both virtual and in-person—have proven to be among the most effective ways to drive developer engagement and adoption. These events will serve as platforms for discussions on decentralized AI, going deeper into what could be built and how.

Problem description (optional)

In Baltics, where we kick off, Deep Funding has too small presence.

The decentralized AI and blockchain ecosystems are growing rapidly, yet they face a critical challenge: a lack of developer engagement. Too many daily active developers have no clue how to build with AI and especially how and what and why to build around decentralized or open-source AI. Deep Funding requires a continuous influx of skilled developers, researchers, and innovators to drive forward open-source AI and blockchain initiatives.

Furthermore, fragmentation within the Web3 ecosystem prevents efficient collaboration. Many talented developers in blockchain, AI, and open-source technology operate in separate silos, missing the chance to collaborate on impactful projects. This disconnect limits innovation, slows adoption, and prevents the formation of a strong decentralized AI movement in Europe.

Key Challenges:

  • Limited awareness of Deep Funding among developers in the Baltics.

  • Lack of structured onboarding for new developers into decentralized AI and blockchain ecosystems.

  • Fragmentation between Web3 communities, startups, and universities that prevents knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

  • Missed opportunities for funding due to low engagement with Deep Funding.

  • Slow adoption of decentralized AI principles in the European tech landscape.

Solution Description

To address these challenges, this proposal will launch a structured initiative that connects universities, startups, and diverse Web3 communities in the Baltics. Over six months, we will organize six events—three in-person and three online—to introduce developers, researchers and other related business people to decentralized AI, Deep Funding.

This initiative will:

  1. Raise Awareness – By hosting in-person and virtual meetups, we will bring together developers, researchers, and startup founders to discuss decentralized AI, Deep Funding opportunities. .

  2. Facilitate Collaboration – Each event will provide a stage for startups, tech teams, and researchers to present their work, discuss challenges, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

  3. Provide a Structured Onboarding Pathway – Developers and innovators will gain an understanding of Deep Funding and how they can secure resources for building decentralized AI projects.

  4. Grow an Active EUDAI Community – We will establish an engaged Telegram group and direct some discussions into Deep Funding’s Discord.

  5. Connect the Deep Funding to the Ecosystem – By inviting speakers and attendees from SingularityNET, Deep Funding and other key players, we will create trustworthy connections between the community and industry leaders, helping build trust and engagement.

Implementation Strategy:

  • 3 in-person meetups in strategic Baltic locations to foster local engagement and FOMO (fear of missing out) effect for online events.

  • 3 online events to ensure broader accessibility for international participants.

  • Dedicated partnership-building efforts with universities, startups, and Web3 communities to establish long-term collaboration opportunities.

  • Community-building through mostly Telegram, with a goal of onboarding 100+ active members.

  • Targeted onboarding of developers and collaboration projects into Deep Funding, aiming for at least 6 proposals submitted by participants in the first 6 months.

  • For direct marketing we will use the direct contact with our collaboration partners, contacts and community that we have gathered during our past years work. It will help us to achieve our goals as we are not beginning from scratch.

  • For bigger outreach we will use associations, web3 existing groups and AI enthusiast groups with a key point that if you are looking for funding around AI, you should know Deep Funding.
