RFP Intro

RFP Overview

At Deep Funding, we believe in the power of collective intelligence to drive the future of AGI

The Request for Proposals (RFPs) Process has been created as a critical part of our mission to decentralize AGI development ensuring that our projects benefit from a wider range of perspectives and advanced technologies.

Our RFPs are an open invitation for experienced teams or individuals to propose solutions based on specific challenges outlined by Deep Funding, SingularityNET, or our trusted partners.

RFPs are frequently published on our Deep Funding platform and cover a range of domains, including our OpenCog Hyperon ASI framework, our Decentralized AI platform and marketplace, Deep Funding initiatives, and many more. The specific challenges that are being released often revolve around improving or creating new tooling and processes.

Each RFP details the project’s objectives, requirements, deadlines, budget and evaluation criteria - some RFPs have stricter criteria than others.

Our RFP Portal is designed as a gateway for talented developers and researchers to access collaboration opportunities with SingularityNET, Deep Funding, or our partners and is ideal for builders who want to contribute to our mission of advancing and shaping the future of decentralized, beneficial Artificial Super-Intelligence.

Whether you are an established developer, an emerging talent, or a seasoned team, RFPs offer a wide range of opportunities for you to work on real-world problems, showcase your expertise, gain recognition, and secure funding.

The RFP Process Explained

Step 1: Accessing the RFPs

Once an RFP is published on our platform you can review the budget, timeline, maximum number of proposals that will be awarded, requirements, and other details. All RFPs are submitted using a standard template and each RFP has an owner and optionally, team members that will help review and select the proposals. You can view all published RFPs here:

Step 2: Submitting Proposals in Response to an RFP

Once you or your team found an RFP that aligns with your skills and expertise and you prepared all the necessary information you can use our multistep flow to guide you through the submission process and describe the details of your proposal, define milestones and related budgets, allocate and invite team members, and submit the final proposal. At this stage, submission details are ONLY visible to the RFP owner and their team. The rest of the community will only see the title, summary, and proposer.

Step 3: Internal Review

During the review stage, the team that issued the RFP will evaluate all proposals that have been submitted and will decide to take one of the following actions:

  • A) Extend the submission period if there aren’t enough high-quality proposals.
  • B) Select a winner if a clear standout proposal emerges.
  • C) Create a shortlist of the best proposals to move to the next stage. Community Experts can be added to the team to assist with the selection process. The RFP review team can individually and anonymously review and rate proposals, with their ratings and written feedback made public, either for all proposals or just for those shortlisted.

Step 4: Feedback and Selection (Optional)

In the case that a shortlist is created, the shortlisted projects, along with the anonymous reviews are being published and are now open for feedback and questions from the wider community. The RFP review team with help from the Deep Funding Community Experts will make the final decision on the proposal(s) that will be awarded.

RFP statuses

  • ‘Pending Release’: The RFP is visible but not yet open for proposals. You can prepare for your proposal, but the details of the RFP might still be changed.
  • ‘Open for Proposals’: Anyone can submit their proposal using the guided proposal flow until the end of the indicated submission period.
  • ‘Internal Proposal Review’: The RFP team reviews and selects the best proposals with occasional help from the Deep Funding Community Experts.
  • ‘Complete and Awarded’: One or more proposals have been awarded.

How To Create A Great Proposal In Response To An RFP

A great proposal clearly showcases your and/or your team’s expertise and knowledge around the subject and your solution is in alignment with the specifications of the RFP.
Proposals that differentiate themselves with unique approaches, fostering innovation while maintaining alignment with the goals of the RFP, are highly encouraged.

Furthermore, each proposal should contain:

  • - All ‘must-haves’ requested in the RFP
  • - A descriptive title and a summary (This will be publicly visible upon submission)
  • - A description of each milestone incl. related deliverables and budgets
  • - A clear description of your proposal including any relevant information such as technical specifications, market research etc.
  • - All known team members, their roles and an overview of their experience and expertise
  • - Relevant past work or case studies that demonstrate the team’s ability to execute the proposed solution
  • The proposal should be detailed enough to showcase the value of the outcomes and compatibility with the desired goals but compact and concise enough to easily be understood and reviewed by the reviewing team.

What happens after your proposal in response to an RFP has been selected for funding?

Once your project has been selected to receive funding, a contract will be signed, and you can get started working on your milestones.

There will be a kickoff meeting to inform you of all relevant processes and you will get the opportunity to connect with the Deep Funding staff, Deep Funding Circle members and other awarded teams. Funds will be released after review and acceptance of the related milestone deliveries as defined in your proposal.

Deep Funding is pleased to offer a diverse range of funding opportunities to the community. We look forward to your innovative ideas and solutions and are excited to work together to push the boundaries of what AI can achieve.
