Short summary

We are seeking individuals to lead and manage Deep Funding Community Hub initiatives. These initiatives aim to establish and foster decentralized Deep Funding Communities centered around specific topics or areas of interest where a dedicated community would be valuable.

Examples of potential hubs include:

  • Sustainability Community Hub
  • Women in AI Community Hub
  • Africa Community Hub
  • Asia Community Hub
  • French-Speaking Hub.
  • Among many other options

The primary objective of these Community Hubs is to expand Deep Funding in a decentralized way. This involves engaging new members, providing information, sharing best practices for submitting funding proposals and building strong, collaborative communities. Regular online meetings will also be an integral part of these initiatives to connect, grow, and support the community.

Main purpose

The primary purpose of Community Hubs is to foster and grow decentralized communities while engaging individuals across various existing topics, regions, and cultures. These hubs play a crucial role in further decentralizing Deep Funding by enabling better alignment with cultural contexts, languages, and the specific needs of diverse communities.

For example, a Regional Community Hub in Asia could organize events and activities tailored to appropriate time zones, local languages, and regional cultural landscapes. This localized approach ensures greater efficiency and relevance, allowing the hub to address the unique needs of its community—something that the general Deep Funding Townhall cannot achieve at the same level.

Another example is a Robotics Community Hub, which would focus on building a dedicated community for individuals passionate about robotics. This hub could organize targeted events, activities, and discussions that engage and captivate robotics enthusiasts. Additionally, it would aim to connect the topic of robotics with Deep Funding by supporting community members in identifying opportunities and guiding them through the process of submitting funding proposals related to robotics.

The mandate of these Community Hubs is twofold:

  1. Growing the Community – Expanding membership and fostering active engagement.
  2. Driving Proposals to Deep Funding – Increasing the number of quality proposals submitted to Deep Funding and encouraging members to participate in the Deep Funding Circle.

These two objectives are critical to the success of the hubs and will help amplify the impact of Deep Funding across diverse topics and communities.

Long description

We are seeking proposals for Community Hubs to build and grow vibrant communities around specific topics of interest. These hubs will attract, engage, and connect individuals who can actively contribute to Deep Funding, while fostering decentralization and the creation of more engaged and collaborative communities.

Proposers have the flexibility to present their own strategies and creative ideas for community growth and execution of regular events. While fulfilling the minimum requirements outlined in this RFP is essential, unique approaches that add value and demonstrate innovation will strengthen proposals and increase the likelihood of funding. The ultimate goal is to develop successful, impactful Community Hubs.

Long-Term Vision for Community Hubs

We envision Community Hubs playing a vital role in the future of decentralization. While the initial focus is on building engaged communities, successful hubs have the potential to evolve significantly. Over time, hubs could be managed as DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations), host their own Deep Funding pools, or even establish hub-specific funding rounds.

This evolution depends on the ambition and success of the Community Hub teams, and we look forward to exploring these possibilities with those who aim to expand their influence and impact within Deep Funding.

Non-functional Requirements

  1. Strategy
    • What is your approach to growing the community?
    • How will you maximize attendance of events?
    • What strategies will you implement to bring new proposals into Deep Funding?
    • How will you encourage community members to become active contributors to Deep Funding Circles?
    • Share the specific ideas and strategies you intend to explore and test (The information in your proposal will be private until final evaluation)
  2. Potential
    • Define the specific area of interest/focus for the Community Hub.
    • Explain why you selected this topic and how it aligns with Deep Funding’s vision and goals.
    • Highlight the topic's potential impact and relevance within Deep Funding.
    • Outline your team's expertise and experience related to the chosen topic. Experience in managing communities, especially with measurable achievements and metrics, will strengthen your proposal.
  3. KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
Set clear goals for metrics required by Deep Funding, including:
    • Community Growth: Percentage increase in new Hub members per month.
    • Event Attendance: Number of individuals attending Events.
    • Proposals: Number of quality proposals brought to Deep Funding by members of the hub(e.g., for Rounds, RFPs, or Open Challenges).
    • Onboarding Experts: Contribution of valued community experts or key roles to Deep Funding Circles.
  4. Proposers are encouraged to define additional goals and metrics aligned with their strategy. On a monthly basis, you will be required to report actual results against these goals, providing context for any variations, as outcomes may influence future budget allocations.
  5. Team Expectations and Setup
    • Provide a detailed description of your team, including relevant experience in community building, hosting online or live events, and other related skills.
    • Roles such as hosting, marketing, content creation, and outreach should be considered as part of the 30 paid hours allocated for event planning, execution, and reporting.
    • Familiarity with Deep Funding, SingularityNET, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain is a plus.
    • Highlight your involvement in the proposed community and explain why you are the right person/team to lead this hub.
  6. Budget and Options
    • Base Pay: Up to $1,200 per month for hosting Townhalls, community building, and executing activities as outlined in your proposal. This aligns with Deep Funding’s standard of $10 per hour, reflecting a 30-hour-per-week effort.
    • Proposers may differentiate themselves with a more competitive budget or propose fewer events (e.g., 1-2 per month), provided the lower time commitment is reflected in the budget.
    • Clearly outline your planned activities, time allocations for each task, and weekly effort.
    • KPI-Based Payment: Between $400 and $600 per month, based on achieving predefined goals and metrics. Collaborate with the Events Circle to finalize these goals, including:
      • Community growth targets.
      • Events attendance goals.
      • Expected number of proposals submitted to Deep Funding after 6 months
      • Onboarded Circle Members to Deep Funding after 6 months.
      • Additional unique metrics based on your strategy.
  7. A portion of the bonus will also consider the global success of Community Hubs. Collaboration among hubs is encouraged, with incentives for teams to share knowledge, work together, and contribute to the collective success of the broader community.
  8. Resources
    • Highlight any competitive advantages, tools, or resources your team can leverage to grow the community and host effective events.
    • While differentiation is encouraged, proposals should remain realistic and achievable. A simpler approach that guarantees regular events and steady community growth is equally valued.
Minimum Requirements
  • Host at least one monthly Community Event.
  • Have a team of at least 3 individuals.
  • Build and grow a community (e.g., Telegram, Discord, email) with administrative access shared with the Events Circle team.
  • Define clear metrics (e.g., event attendance, community growth).
Additional Ideas for Consideration

Proposals may include other innovative ideas, such as:

  • Partnerships with existing communities or organizations.
  • Collaborations with universities or educational institutions.
  • Live, in-person events.
  • Creation of relevant documents, educational materials, or content.
  • Strategies tailored to specific regions, topics, or demographics.
  • Any other initiatives that have the potential to grow and strengthen the community.
Continuation

Based on the performance of the hub, a decision on extending the commitment will be given towards the end of the awarded term.

Main evaluation criteria

Following submission, the Events Circle Team or Deep Funding may contact you to clarify aspects of your proposal, provide feedback, or offer suggestions to enhance your approach and increase its chances of success.

All approved hubs must comply with the Community Hub Framework, which addresses topics such as resource management, ownership, team succession, and other operational guidelines. By submitting a proposal, you agree to adhere to these rules.

Please be aware that this is our first iteration of Community Hubs, and as such clear processes are not yet defined. This is an experimental process, and changes might be required to the structure of these Community Hubs. We expect your understanding and collaboration.

Proposal selection process

This RFP is developed and managed by the Deep Funding Event Circle. The Circle is responsible for selecting the best proposals and guiding the awarded teams during their lif cycle.
The maximum amount mentioned is an estimate. This amount might be exceeded in case of a large number of very good proposals, during the start of the initiative or later during the year.
