Mission Synthesis: to incorporate two opposing viewpoints to discover a third, resolved position. This process is a multi-chained argumentation session with up to 16 back and forth debates per LLM across multiple models. Thesis, Antithesis and Synthesis are all based on the legal framework, case law and precedent, thus actionable and appropriate to the conflict at hand. Once we take this first step together toward compromise, the pathway to peace is no longer blocked by the obstinance of a lack of imagination.

The DIAlectic is made up of three pillars, Thesis on the left, Antithesis on the Right and Synthesis in the middle. Thesis is a proposal or idea. Antithesis is an objection, reaction or counterpoint. Synthesis is the discovery of another position that combines these two formerly opposed positions into a third resolved position. This is the creative act of keeping the peace, problem solving and discovering a way to harmonize or balance two opposing forces.

Problem description

Peacekeeping, law and civilization itself has always been about the discovery of mutual common ground and acceptable trade offs. In a world of battling ideas, compromise is often what wins the day, allowing for advancement through boundary-setting and concession. When this breaks down is when we push past the point of no return, into war and outright conflict. This must be avoided at all costs as the tools of conflict become more sophisticated, it more and more risks total destruction.

Proposed Solutions

Employ multiple LLM’s simultaneously run through a line of argumentation based on appropriate case law and geopolitical legal constraints of Thesis and Antithesis positions. After cross-examination, argumentation pathway forms a synthesis of the two opposing positions that can be evaluated, refined with the addition of new evidence. Syntheses can battle it out across LLM’s find even better solutions. This process can also be shared or posted on discussion boards to be ranked and challenged.
