Borno State, located in the northeastern region of Nigeria, has endured years of insurgency, insecurity, and social unrest.
Voice of Borno is an AI-powered platform that enables early conflict detection and fosters peacebuilding through community-driven intelligence. It empowers local residents—including displaced persons, youth, and women—to report suspicious activities, grievances, and peace-related updates via voice or text in their native languages (Kanuri, Hausa, Fulfulde).
Resident of Borno State, have witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of insurgency, displacement, and deep-rooted mistrust among communities. In our region, the lack of timely, reliable, and verifiable information often contributes to the escalation of conflicts. Rumors spread like wildfire, and people live in fear of what might happen next. Communities feel disconnected from peacebuilding processes, and many youth are left without a sense of purpose, making them vulnerable to manipulation.
To address this, I present Voice of Borno – an AI-powered Community Intelligence and Early Warning System designed to empower citizens, detect early signs of conflict, and help authorities, NGOs, and community leaders respond proactively.
Resident of Borno, have lived through years of insurgency, displacements, and mistrust among communities. One major issue is the lack of timely information to prevent attacks, resolve community conflicts, and respond quickly to emerging threats. Youth often feel disconnected, and rumors spread faster than truth, fueling fear and violence.
Voice of Borno is an AI-powered Community Intelligence & Early Warning System that uses:
Natural Language Processing (NLP) to analyze local languages (Kanuri, Hausa, Fulfulde) from community reports and social media.
Sentiment Analysis to detect rising tensions, hate speech, or panic.
Predictive Analytics to forecast possible conflict hotspots.
Voice-to-Text AI to allow even low-literate users to submit reports via voice notes.
