Social Pulse uses artificial intelligence to monitor social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter (X), Telegram, and others. It analyzes posts, reactions, and conversations to:

• Understand how people feel about current events (emotion and sentiment analysis)

• Identify topics that are causing strong emotional reactions or division

• Detect early signs of violence or unrest (pre-violence indicators)

• Predict where conflict might happen based on geographic and social data

• Send real-time alerts to peace organizations, local authorities, and communities

This tool can help decision-makers take action before things get worse—protecting lives and promoting peace.

Problem description

Social media has played a major role in sparking violence in various countries—for example, during the Tigray conflict in Ethiopia and the Rohingya crisis in Myanmar.
