Problem description

Nigeria faces complex conflicts driven by religious tensions, ethnic diversity, resource disputes, and extremist violence. Current conflict prevention approaches fail because they rely on delayed information, have incomplete understanding of local grievances, cannot detect subtle shifts in community sentiment, and struggle to monitor Nigeria's vast geographic and linguistic landscape. These limitations result in reactive responses after violence has already begun, rather than preventive measures

PeacePulse will combine multi-source data collection across Nigerian languages with advanced NLP models specifically trained to identify conflict indicators. The system will provide real-time dashboards, automated alerts, and visualization tools showing sentiment trends and geographic hotspots. An AI-driven recommendation engine will suggest appropriate de-escalation strategies based on conflict type and past successful interventions, enabling peacekeepers to take targeted preventive action.
