It will turn a meaningful subset of the  70 million daily Roblox users into users of the SNet platform, via the Galactic Jam Machine game’s use of SNet platform on the back end.  Tapping into Roblox with the correct strategy could potentially be the largest source of growth for the entire SNet ecosystem during 2024.

Metahug is building a novel front-end via Roblox allowing creative utilization of a number of AI services that Jam Galaxy will put on the SNet platform in Q2 2024 and we have been coordinating closely with Ben Goertzel and the rest of the Jam Galaxy team on this. Intially the AI Synthesizer and the Desdemona Voice Model will be accessed via API on the back end of the Galactic Jam Machine game, allowing the game to be used with novel AI-generated sounds in addition to the default "Cosmic Sounds" that the game will come with. From an AI perspective this is a way of making cool AI music tools such as JG's tools available in a game form to Roblox players, rather than just to musicians.

The game is more centered around providing an engaging & immersive experience for players, rather than solving a specific problem, similar to sitting in Starbucks for hours. Roblox is becoming more of a social scene rather than a game you beat, a reason why teens come back daily instead of beating the game & never returning

SNet ecosystem: bringing SNet AI tools to the Roblox community in a fun & engaging way, which can then lead Galactic Jam Machine users to become involved with SNet tools & community in other ways as well.

Computer music: to allow non-musicians to creatively engage with some cutting-edge AI/music tools in a way that’s fun & easy yet also focused on out-there novel creation rather than derivative remixing of existing content. Generative AI is not focused on varying & recombining existing content in relatively shallow ways; the game brings more fundamental musical creativity to the non-musician end-user, as a side-effect of just playing with some fun colorful sound-generating blocks in Roblox.

Game Concept and Design

- Title: "Galactic Jam MachineI"

- Core Gameplay: Players arrange cosmic-themed blocks in a 2D or 3D space, conceptually reminiscent of SimTunes but with more visual sophistication and greater musical variety. Each block represents different musical elements, influenced by celestial bodies like stars, planets, and comets.

 

Platform(s)

  • Roblox version, with a limitation initially that blocks must only play a certain set of preapproved sounds

  • Sophiaverse version, where blocks can be more open, and we can integrate with Jam Galaxy “AI synthesizer”, letting the user specify a sound with a text prompt and having the AI synthesizer come up with the sound, or with other AI sound sources such as synthesized voice models



Creatures (NPCs): Design AI-driven creatures, perhaps styled as comets or space critters, that move over these blocks. Each creature generates unique sounds based on the block's properties, creating a multi-voice song.

- 3D Expansion: Players can stack blocks to create a 3D musical environment, adding depth and complexity to the compositions.

 

Sound System

    The project scope seems extreme compared to the available funding with several chapters of game play, layers of activities, and integration of existing AI services into a game context. Would this project be better suited to higher funding in the next full R4 round?

      The next round we can apply for more funding if we want to build out updates to the game etc. Jam Galaxy is committed to making this happen so Ben has assured me he will help in whatever way he can so they will handle integration of existing AI services. We forgot to mention the synergies with Sophiaverse in Roblox will be immense. We already launched some UGC for sophiaverse in Roblox.

      I could have added this to "Existing Resources" but ben said he would cover the $12,500 extra needed that was tacked onto the budget for the API calls etc as the first phase of funding. People's biggest comment is they think the budget is not enough but Ben said he will help make it happen.

    I'm concerned the design phase is only 2 weeks, and breaking into the competitive Roblox ecosystem isn't easy. No new services will be added; is the 50k max budget for this test round justified?

      Brands normally pay $250k-$650k to build an experience in Roblox. Web3 has little users. Roblox has many users. If sNet wants access to the future of the spatial web while accessing new users as scale, then Roblox for only $50k with the possibility of a large upside.

        We have a UGC plan to create a community that we have done for other brands. the design phase is only 2 weeks because much of concept has already been decided by Ben and the team which is documented. Now we just have to execute it.

    Jan let me clarify perhaps the use of AI behind this product. The Metahug team will not be building AI, however what they are building will be a novel front-end allowing creative utilization of a number of AI services that Jam Galaxy will put on the SNet platform.     The company name is 'Galactic Jam Machine'. But further down you refer to 'Metahug'. COuld it be that 'Galactic Jam machine is not the company name but a product name? You also mention Ben a couple of times, but he is not part of your team on the Project Team tab. Perhaps you can clarify what Ben's role is in the project, (if any)?

      MetaHug.io is the dev shop to bring Ben's vision for jamgalaxy.com to come to life in Roblox. MetaHug is creating the game and the api connection. Ben and his Jam Galaxy team will connect their AI and music tech to the MetaHug API connection in Roblox.

Could you please describe with some more detail what AI services you are bringing to the platform? e.g. by describing their inputs and outputs?

Great value for money, targeting younger audience

This is a fantastic idea – and aimed at a younger user-base (teens and young adults). If we can add such younger users to the community who use SNET AI services, and substantially impact growth.

The proposal is not too costly, especially when compared against the potential value in attracting a subset of 70M daily users. Moreover, JG is part of the ecosystem, and should have these services tied in to the SNET eco-system.

Feasibility is high, since the idea is vouched for and clearly explained by Ben. Moreover, the milestones seem achievable in the timeframes specified. However, none of the other project teams seem to have historical data for other DF rounds (1st time applicant?).

Viability is very high, since this project could definitely add a different, younger subset of users to the SNET community – potentially a substantial number of them.

Desirability is very high, since it would add to the range of monetizable AI services available on SNET. This would definitely add younger blood to the community, ensuring future continuity, et al. I highly recommend this project – should be a must-have, either in this test round, or in DF4.

    A Project with a huge Potential but some concerns

    Feasibility -> The Project although challenging considering how hard it is to create an actual game that is entertaining at that at the same time easy enough to be used by Children, and especially how hard it is to get adoption for the project, seems feasible overall, with the right kind of budget, timeline and expertises.

    Viability ->  The project seems to have a huge potential but I'm a bit worried about Viability because at one point it does seem like a significant task even considering the quality of the team, especially with the limited budget that might force the team to stop the project halfway through or not have enough money to market and attract the necessary users in the beginning. Another concern is that this project also has external dependencies, as it will leverage AI services that still need to be created, if those services are delayed or if there is any issue in their creation this entire project would be affected.

    Desirability -> Being able to create an entertaining game that makes services from the Singularity Net Marketplace available to possibly millions of users and integrated in a seamless way is something very desirable. It could be a very entertaining way to get adoption for these services. 

    Usefulness -> This would be useful because it would create an entertaining usecase with a lot of potential to attract users, and a lot of API calls, so it would definitely bring a lot to the AI Marketplace, and could be a very significant source of revenue.
