Overview

The collaborative network between Swarm, Wada, and the Cardano Latin America Community seeks to expand the DeepFunding Town Hall format to Latin American and African Cardano Communities. They aim to create a distributed network of town halls in the blockchain and AI space, promoting global solutions for beneficial AGI while reflecting local perspectives. By launching town halls in Africa and Latin America, they plan to connect Cardano Communities to SingularityNET's DeepFunding and increase global engagement and participation.

The project is divided into several milestones, including setting up initial resources, training community leaders, hosting Africa and Latin America DeepFunding Town Halls, and reflecting on the experience with recommendations. The total budget for this initiative is $9,500 in AGIX.

To mitigate risks of low participation, they plan to create marketing materials and promote DeepFunding within the communities. The Town Halls will be free and open to the DeepFunding Community, with transparency and open-source principles guiding the project.

Compnay Name

We are a collaborative network in action between Swarm, Wada & the Cardano Latin America Community

Service Details

We aim to expand the established DeepFunding Town Hall format across the Latin American and African Cardano Communities and to begin the development of a distributed network of town halls across several communities in the blockchain space across cultures and languages and to increase a equally global participation at SingularityNET’s DeepFunding, ensuring that global solutions of beneficial AGI is well reflected by local opinions, visions and needs. To achieve our Vision, we would use already gained experience and expertise and apply these to the DeepFunding Ecosystem, we would use simple formats such as Online Events and workshops, translations and education process to teach the teachers and to ensure that community members, once joined, also find a open environment where they can deepen their knowledge and engagements and to contribute to a growth of the DeepFunding ecosystem and community.

Problem Description

The DeepFunding Community led Town Hall, currently held on a biweekly basis at 19.00 UTC focuses on English language and on an english speaking community of participants. We think that the design of an iterating innovation fund benefits from a design in which the global community becomes a metabody of several independent and geographic based communities in which ideas, visions, solutions and concerns can be presented and discussed in local language and become a more inclusive environment for people and projects to engage in. The Town Halls serve as a community tool to increase and improve a more global engagement and participation of an active DeepFunding community.

Solution Description

We aim to leverage the Town Halls as tool and to run a first Africa and Latin America based Town Halls in November and December 2023, to bootstrap processes and to gain first hands on experience and expertise in connecting Cardano Communities across several cultures and languages to SingularityNET’s project DeepFunding. This initiative aims to increase the quantity of community led initiatives, to increase onboarding, education and participation to a more global and diverse community of contributors and participants in DeepFunding.

While this proposal introduces a first expansion of the DeepFunding Town Hall as an initial phase, further Funding Rounds may become subject of more advanced proposals. For us, it is important to start small, build first simple success and build upon early success towards more matured and complex formats.

Revenue Sharing

The Town Halls aim to be a free and open event to the growing DeepFunding Community and we do not plan to gain revenue by this proposal.

Marketing & Competition

We plan to market our initiative through our already existing networks within the Cardano Ecosystem and to create our own marketing material to the DeepFunding and SingularityNET ecosystems.

The SWARM, LATAM & WADA Teams already host open community calls on a recurring base and maintain a strong active community in their areas since several years. This is an major advantage as we dont have to build communities from scratch and can easily include SingularityNET and DeepFunding materials to the already exisiting community events and communication hubs such as Discord, Telegram and Twitter.

This advantage allows us to reach a large amount of active Cardano Community members with a relative low effort and ensure a quick and easy outreach and onboarding from Cardano Communities towards SingularityNET & DeepFunding.

Furthermore, the WADA & LATAM Team have already well seasoned translation processes in place to easily and effectively translate english content into their community languages which provides aditional ease to promote materials to their communities.

Risk and Mitigation

Risk #1

Low participation at expanded DeepFunding Town Halls. Most Community members in the Wada and Latin American Town Halls are not yet informed about DeepFunding, the lack of understanding may cause a low number of Town Hall participants. To mitigate this risk, we will create some first marketing materials and start to socialise and promote DeepFunding within the Wada and Latin America Communities, this will help us to increase awareness and interest and to ensure a strong participation at the first expanded Town Halls.

Voluntary Revenue

The Town Halls aim to be a free and open event to the growing DeepFunding Community and we do not plan to gain revenue by this proposal.

Open Source

At this initial proposal, we do not plan to develop our own software. However, all Workshops and Events will be recorded and be made public to the community. We plan to execute the proposals implementation in total transparency and to allow anyone in the community to audit and have insights on the proposals progress and achieved deliverables and milestones.

Our Team

SWARM: The SWARM has initiated and supported the creation of multiple Cardano Community led Town Halls around project Catalyst over the past 3 Years. We have a strong experience and expertise in setting up community infrastructure tools such as Town Halls and leverage this knowledge to support the growth of Project DeepFunding. Through Swarm permanent engagement since the inception of DeepFunding, we have a strong understanding on DeepFundings design and operations, allowing us to provide hands-on guidance and support in onboarding and bootstrapping new initiatives with a maximum alignment to DeepFundings mission and vision.
