Overview

Overview: To address the need for education and awareness in AI and Web3, we propose a marketing campaign targeting Nigerian universities, with plans to expand across Africa. This initiative will introduce SingularityNET and establish a network of "student ambassadors."

Project details

Overview

AI and Web3 are two rapidly emerging markets with significant growth potential. The AI market is projected to reach $15.3 trillion, while the cryptocurrency market is expected to grow by 24% annually. Despite impressive adoption rates, particularly in Africa, there is still a considerable need for education and awareness about these technologies.

To address this, we propose a marketing campaign to educate and engage students across universities and colleges in Nigeria, with plans to expand across Africa. This campaign aims to introduce SingularityNET and its ecosystem, focusing on AI and Web3 technologies, and to establish a network of "student ambassadors" to champion these initiatives.

Campaign Initiatives

The campaign comprises two main initiatives:

  1. SingularityNET on Campus: A series of workshops and events to educate students about AI, blockchain, Web3, and SingularityNET.

  2. Mission-Based Reward System (MBRS): A gamified engagement program to incentivize active participation and promote SingularityNET.

 

Our agenda begins with an introduction to the fundamentals of blockchain and the significance of Web3 in the decentralized ecosystem. Following this, we go into SingularityNET, exploring its role in AI and its vision to build AGI.

 

A pivotal component of these events is a thorough explanation of what the SingularityNET ecosystem is, its products, and its importance in the AI ecosystem. Participants will receive step-by-step guidance and have the opportunity to engage directly with the technology. Additionally, we aim to introduce attendees to the SingularityNET Ambassadors program, offering insights into its benefits and opportunities. An interactive Q&A session will be included to address any queries and foster interest in the Ambassador Program.

 

Logistically, these workshops will be conducted at various universities and colleges in Nigeria first, depending on the progress, we aim to host these events across Africa, ensuring broad accessibility and the expansion of SingularityNET's presence. The frequency will be determined, with each workshop tailored according to need and university, lasting a specified duration. We will collaborate with various student blockchain clubs for promotion, utilize social media platforms, and engage with local communities to maximize outreach.

While events are a good way to introduce SingularityNET in Africa, we do not want to only do that, we want to establish active communities of SingularityNET. That is why we thought of a way to engage these communities while at the same time marketing SingularityNET in the best way possible; a "mission-based reward system. The mission based system will serve as  a reward mechanism for eventual campus ambassadors and, at the same time, a marketing tool for the SingularityNET Ecosystem.

Description

    Hello Kenichi, I also want to point out that maintaining long-term engagement and interest among students, as well as ensuring the effective coordination and management of the campus ambassador network, may pose challenges. It would be essential to carefully consider strategies for addressing these challenges.

    The proposal will create a marketing campaign to educate and engage students across universities and colleges in Nigeria, with plans to expand across Africa to showcase SingularityNET, AI and Web3 technology .     Maintaining and expanding the community

    The project seems feasible with clear goals and a realistic approach. However, cooperation from universities and implementation of reward systems can be risky. The project meets educational needs about AI and Web3, creating opportunities for the young community to access and innovate in the decentralized AI ecosystem. But I found maintaining student ambassador engagement after the initial campaign and ensuring ongoing support from the student community to be a major challenge for the long-term success of the project.

    Cost per ambassador is high

    The outcome of this program will be a minimum of 25 new ambassadors in Africa. These ambassadors are going to apparently ask for more funding from Deep Funding to bring more ambassadors. It is not clear to me that the cost of $760 per person recruited to the Ambassador program is a great result. The number of people being educated here is high, and that's why it is a positive program. However, it is not clear that there is real benefit to the SNET. For $760 per person we could do targeted recruiting for people with the skills we need, rather than recruit students to the Ambassador program.

    It is important to note that this proposal is not about directly onboarding individuals into the SingularityNET Ambassador Program. Instead, it aims to set up a network of campus ambassadors. These campus ambassadors will serve as local champions and facilitators, helping to spread awareness and educate their peers about AI, Web3, and SingularityNET. This network forms the foundation for future recruitment into the formal Ambassador Program, ensuring a well-prepared and knowledgeable cohort.

     

    The campus ambassadors are an outcome of the initial workshops. These workshops are aimed to educate students on AI and blockchain technologies, and also introduce the SingularityNET ecosystem to them. After these workshops, campus ambassadors will be established, who will then continue to educate and engage their peers, ensuring the longevity and sustainability of the program. While campus ambassadors are one of the outcomes of the initial workshops, they serve the critical purpose of ensuring continuity and longevity of the initiative. Their role is to maintain sustained engagement and education within their communities, which is vital for the program's long-term success.

    • Targeted Recruitment vs. Ambassador Program: While targeted recruitment for specific skills can be valuable, the ambassador program serves a different purpose. It is about community building and education, which are crucial for long-term growth and adoption of SNET. Targeted recruitment might bring immediate expertise, but it does not create the same level of widespread engagement and advocacy.

    • Scaling and Optimization: We are continually looking for ways to optimize costs and improve efficiency. As the program scales, we anticipate economies of scale that will reduce the cost per ambassador. Additionally, the feedback and insights gathered from the initial phase will help us refine our approach and improve cost-effectiveness.

     

    The cost should not be reduced to just the budget divided by the number of campus ambassadors. This would overlook the impact of the other initiatives listed above. The budget covers a range of activities, including workshops that aim to host over 600 students. There is also a reward-based system to incentivize ambassadors and target a larger audience. Campus ambassadors are a way to keep the SNET community active and engaged long after the workshops, ensuring there is a thriving SingularityNET community in every phase.
