Our project amplifies awareness and engagement in Africa, utilizing untapped talent and fostering collaboration. By creating a community and onboarding more AI enthusiasts as well as developers, we'll expand SingularityNET's reach and cultivate a diverse ecosystem, driving innovation and advancing AI applications.

Our Team

Our team excels in this project due to our extensive experience in organizing impactful events within the African tech ecosystem. We blend complementary skills in project management, content creation, social media engagement, community building, and event coordination, ensuring precise execution. Our history, coupled with strong connections in the African tech community, enable us to effectively engage and mobilize talent. This makes us ideal to execute this project.

Project details

Introduction

Africa presents a unique combination of untapped talent, emerging markets, and a strong sense of community that, if harnessed effectively, will result in an exceptional contribution to the advancement of AI and AGI applications and to the SingularityNET ecosystem. By nurturing and investing in the potential of human capital within Africa, we not only foster local innovation but also enrich the global AI landscape with fresh perspectives and groundbreaking solutions, aiming to build new bridges across borders within a region with tremendous market potential for SingularityNET to tap into.

Problem Statement

One of the key challenges we're currently addressing is the relatively low awareness of SingularityNET and limited participation in the DeepFunding program among AI developers in the African region. To tackle this, we've devised a multifaceted strategy that capitalizes on the potential of communities to expand the SingularityNET ecosystem and address the lack of information and engagement, making it easier for both enthusiasts and developers from Africa to join SingularityNET as it gradually moves towards AGI.

Solution

Our strategy revolves around nurturing a vibrant community as the cornerstone of our success. Through conferences/hackathons we will attract a large and qualitative pool of AI enthusiasts and developers. Furthermore, with personalized blog content, strategic use of social media platforms and regular townhalls, we aim to spotlight the importance and virtues of the SingularityNET Ambassador/DeepFunding program, directly engaging with developers in subregions.

We aim to become the hub for collaboration, co-creation and communication within the African community, creating a space for onboarding, engagement, and growth for would be lovers of the SingularityNET ecosystem.

Our virtual town hall meetings will not only provide a platform for prospective developers to learn and connect but also cultivate a sense of unity within the AI ecosystem.

The true essence of our strategy is in amplifying the value of ideas. By establishing SingularityNET as a future-forward ecosystem and showing the multiple potentials it offers to enthusiasts and developers alike through its Ambassador program, deep funding program or any of the several other spin-off projects, we will underscore an ecosystem that is interested in nurturing innovative ideas to reshape the AI landscape.

We will build a community fueled by shared knowledge, innovation, and the collective journey toward advancing AI into AGI.

Why Africa?

Focusing on the African region presents a remarkable opportunity to harness the potential of human capital and engage a significant percentage of developers.

The region's emerging tech enthusiasm is home to a blooming population of tech-savvy individuals, particularly among the younger generation, indicating a strong interest in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain. Africa hosts numerous universities and educational institutions with robust computer science programs, nurturing a growing pool of skilled developers eager to explore innovative new technologies and its applications. The region boasts hidden individual talents and untapped innovators who, with the right exposure and opportunities, can contribute groundbreaking ideas to the AI landscape and enrich the SingularityNET platform.

Many African countries are experiencing rapid economic growth and a flourishing middle class, indicating a rising demand for AI and blockchain integrated solutions across various sectors. Africa's startup ecosystem is thriving, with a surge in technology-driven startups and entrepreneurship. Supporting these ventures can result in dynamic AI projects and solutions to partner with SingularityNET long-term objectives.

Our close-knit communities foster collaboration and shared learning experiences, creating an environment conducive co-creation and collective innovation. Our diverse cultures and socioeconomic challenges offer a wide range of problems that can benefit from AI solutions and application development, ranging from healthcare to agriculture and social development. We live here and we understand our context. Every day, we manifest the results or consequences of advancing tech.

While the percentage of developers engaged in AI projects might be lower in Africa compared to more established tech hubs, this indicates a significant and mutually beneficial opportunity for growth and development as focusing on engaging the African tech space can catalyze exponential growth in AI innovation, making a tangible impact on the global AI ecosystem through SingularityNET.

    Not Enough Justification For Funding

    • Feasibility:
      • In terms of the information that is provided in the proposal, the majority of statements are personal perspectives with lengthy descriptive language, purely empirical without no reference to actual data findings that can be further Google'ed or read upon to verify.
      • As with other proposals, there are allocations for doing initial paid research on identifying the current AI landscape of targeted countries, on their content creation format, its distribution, determining network aggregators etc. which have been given a respective budget and righfully needed for the team intends to have a continental conference.
      • This is then followed up creating SNET clubs in unidentified tertiary instituions which I assumed will be identified through their research. There will also be a creation of SNET Africa website. Though for some reason the budget is less than the budget allocated to research. Seeing that there will SNET clubs in various countries, with unknown numbers one would assume a large budget is needed.
      • There are many actionable items/KPI's that in itself should be it's own proposal (i.e. SNET Clubs in various tertiary institutions, online Townhalls, etc.) with it's own budget yet seem forced to fit under $2.500. This does not take into accord the budget for transportation. It is unclear how the logistics of this proposal will take place. Will there be representatives of this proposal in both Rwanda and Nigeria?
      • All of this could have been calculated prior if this team had conducted initial small limited research to validate the need and cost of having this proposal. It would also have been ideal if the team would go the further lengths to validate their proposal based on each targeted region. Hence avoiding these lofty goals that are not supported by clear detailed action plans.

    • Viability:
      • There are 3 (three) aspects that need to be clearly identified in this type of proposal. One would be correlating background which in this case should be around Community Management, Event Management, Content Creation, Project Management, Public Relations, KOL Management, Translation, Research Skills and Indepth AI Knowledge, pre-identified potential market for this proposal and a verifiable team.
      • From the details provided regarding team members, the team can not be verified by any external links. It is unclear at all the teams relative experience with their position in their proposal. The community is asked to fully trust their statements without proper due process.
      • Target market is unclear. It is stated only Africa, which perhaps the team then seeks to validate through their follow-up research which part of Africa. As mentioned there should have been some form of indication at the very least an intial actionable finding based on data justifying this proposal.
      • What is more concerning though, is their number of proposals they have submitted or part of. Each team member are part of multiple proposals with findings as follows:
        • Project Owner: 7 proposals
        • Program Manager: 6 proposals
        • Community Manager: 4 proposals
        • Research Analyst: 12 proposals
      • Based on Project Management Institute you are allowed 3 projects. Scrum Masters 5 projects. Even Project Catalyst 6 projects. I fail to see how this team will achieve their goals across all proposals.

    • Desirability:
    •  Usefulness:
      • The main issue of this proposal, is their Project Management aspect. All team members being involved in multiple proposal have not provided validation of their skillset and experience or proper team member distribution across all their proposals. Seeing that this is a key aspect, which is human resource management, this proposal and all that are connected to it would be categorized has very high risk with unclear rewards.

Stellar Team and Innovation in Africa

With this team of leaders, anyone can rest assured of a successful outcome.

I'm a Canadian distant from Africa both in location and time - I'd visited The Gambia in high school where our group from Canada was introduced to our contemporaries and their school's computer lab in Lamin - my participation in SingularityNET is introducing me to the rising stars of A.I. in Africa.

I think this team's proposal is certain to succeed introducing SIngularityNET to these selected countries' technologists and entrepreneurs, and look forward to the days I can see presentations from new participants in Africa. Every success to you!

    SingularityNET Africa Community

The problem this proposal would address is the relatively low awareness of SingularityNET and limited participation in the DeepFunding program by AI developers in the African region. This is a very real problem because in many areas, SNET and DF are still not popular. The solution of this proposal is that they will attract a large number of AI enthusiasts and developers through conferences/hackathons.
The African community will also benefit from this project. Hope it will be implemented successfully.

SNET REACHES OUT TO THE AFRICAN COMMUNITY

Africa is a large region where few people know about SNET and Deepfunding. The project helps provide information about SNET and Deepfunding to the African community.
Your team has many experienced members but does not have experts knowledgeable about SNET and Deepfunding. Who will be in charge of the content for the conference? Information about AI technology is quite complicated to understand. Therefore, the team should consider how to share content so that the community can easily access it.
The conference's goal is to have 3000 participants. That is a large number. We need a promotional strategy to attract the community. The required budget for the event is 20,000 USD. The budget should be more specific and allocated to promotion.
We should also evaluate the effectiveness of this project based on the quality of the output of conference participants. In the long term, what will community group members in Africa contribute to the SNET and Deepfunding ecosystem?

Interesting comment, Mai Pippi, thank you for engaging with our proposal. On the contrary, the team is 100% made of people neck-deep rooted in the SingularityNET and it's spinoff programs including the ambassador's program and deep funding with a minimum of 1 year of very active contribution and experience in the ecosystem. The proposal is born out of an obvious gap we have identified in the global market and one which provides a profound opportunity for SingularityNET to capitalize upon for the expansion of its reach and influence through the deepfunding program. So yeah, we are a contributing part of the ecosystem and have a firm idea of our objectives and its deliverables. Our team is made up of community engagement experts, blockchain and web3 marketing experts as well as program managers collectively capable of delivering on our stated objectives and we invite you to further support this initiative by voting for our proposal as the voting round commences this Monday. Thank you.

    Africa must have this!

The project overall is very interesting.

Beyond the proposal (i would have liked to read more metrics), I think the milestone are really well planned and this can be awesomely done.

Africa has lots of talent, but the macro-culture of the worlds sees them (and us latinos) like people that needs our help. They don't need help, they lack opportunities - and that's why SNET should bet on Africa. Lets give Africa more power to show what its got, let them create their own history.

Break down budget prove transparency, rest is good

There are two criteria that I highly appreciate: feasibility and usefulness. Organizing conferences is something that many proponents have done and achieved certain success. This proposal is probably the same. It is not new but it is always necessary to spread knowledge and connect the community. Especially for developing areas, people still have many things to worry about in life and lack serious knowledge, so this proposal is even more necessary. Allocating the budget in a reasonable and harmonious way is what I refer to as a rebalancing depending on the work to be done in each milestone. If necessary, the team can present a very small breakdown of the tasks along with the budget for further transparency, especially at milestone number 3 with the outstanding amount of $12,500 several times.

    Long-term maintenance and development strategy

Very good idea that the AI/AGI conference was organized with the goal of attracting more than 3000 participants. I guess the majority of these 3,000 people are technology lovers. I wonder what the team will do to maintain people's continued interest in AI SNET technology some time after the conference ends? In fact, there have been a number of similar conferences taking place (on a smaller scale) and after a while, everything returned to the way it was. I affirm the benefits that the conference brings, but think about how you can make that benefit increase many times over and maintain it long term.

So this is the genesis version of this initiative. We will maintain the impact of the conference through virtual townhalls and several other community engagement initiatives aimed at sustaining the impact of the conference and nurturing the leads into the SingularityNET ecosystem and deep funding program. As the voting round begins this coming Monday, I invite you to vote for this proposal to give it wings to fly and make it a success. Thank you for your positive review and support so far.

    Who are the partners?

The 4 detailed milestones made a very good impression on me. The only question I have is about the caliber of partners the team intends to work with to include this proposal. This also plays an important role in the success of the proposal when applied in practice. I would like to see the team present this in more detail, knowing all the participants will create a greater appeal to the African community.

Great proposal with multiple potentials. It is important to understand that establishing the SingularityNET Africa Community requires careful consideration of cultural and regional differences across countries in Africa. The team should consider ensuring that community engagement initiatives, content, and events are culturally sensitive and relevant to the diverse African audience is essential for fostering meaningful participation and impact. Cheers !

In terms of project impact, it demonstrates the potential to disseminate information about the Singularity ecosystem to developers in African countries through online conferences and hackathons. However, what we need here is a detailed budget for this deployment plan, which should be interpreted specifically in terms of labor hours and component costs of event organization. This is necessary to complement the proposal for clarity and transparency.

I am conflicted in writing this discussion since I feel it may be my interpertation of the spirit of DeepFunding and specifically the Pool your proposal is in. My reading is that the intent is to develop awareness of DeepFunding, expand builders and awareness of the "Platform" for AI, among but not limited to those stated. Perhaps I am wrong in my interpertation. Please explain how your proposal is not an extension of the extent Ambassador program and how it aligns with the intent and stated purposes of both DeepFunding rules, SingularityNets guiding principles and specifically the Marketing pool. Thank you.

Scale of operations and awareness raising

The real value of the project lies in taking advantage of untapped human resources and emerging markets in Africa, as well as creating opportunities for breakthrough ideas in the field of AI. The project not only supports local innovation but also contributes to the global AI picture with new perspectives and creative solutions.
However, the limitation that needs to be overcome is the lack of awareness about SingularityNET and limited participation in the DeepFunding program in the region. The project should focus on raising awareness and enabling African developers to participate in the SingularityNET ecosystem, especially when moving towards AGI.

    * Project goals:
    - Proposal to raise the issue of limited awareness and community connection of Africans about the SNET ecosystem and DeepFunding programs in general, to solve this current problem. proposed that the goal and solution is to build a community in which the team will nurture and attract more passionate human resources and developers in the field of AI in which the team will Create a space to support, engage and develop for people who love the SNET ecosystem through creating conferences/hackathons, or press conferences at universities where there are many human resources Young people have potential in the IT industry as well as AI and AGI. However, in terms of differences in communication and team building projects, they need to highlight unique information about the project they are building, as well as such as specific qualitative and quantitative information so that the evaluator community as well as the SNET ecosystem has a common view on the true impact that the project the team is pursuing brings.

    * Feasibility and capacity of the team:
    - As for the feasibility of the project, it is highly implementable, but it also depends on the working capacity and process of each phase of the project that the team executes and reports throughout the implementation process. The team has outline the members responsible for each role of the project from conducting comprehensive information exploitation in each region in Africa to grasping the situation and strategies to deploying conferences from universities. study as well as the continental AI/AGI conference, however, as for the detailed quantification of the project, the number of target participants and proposed topics need to be clarified or surveys and real values stated. about the number of 3,000 participants to ensure the practicality of the conference. And the team also needs to declare the use of funding in phase 3 - Expanding the Program and Conference about the source. The capital is $12,500. It is necessary to clarify what this capital is used for so that SNET as well as the evaluator community can have a more realistic and transparent view.

    * Calculating the value of the proposal brings:
    - In general, regarding the value of this project, the media brings high value to the SNET ecosystem, but proposals should pay attention to clarifying the qualitative and quantitative values that the project brings as well as documents to be able to prove the numbers that throughout the project implementation process that the team will ensure can serve as a basis for the effectiveness that the project really brings value to the ecosystem. Increase awareness of SingularityNET in Africa

The proposal team has the ambition to create a community and attract more AI enthusiasts and developers in Africa to participate in the SNET and Deep Funding ecosystem. The team's solution was to organize conferences/hackathons combined with marketing promotions to expand SingularityNET's reach and participation in Africa.
    1. Feasibility:

The group's ambitions are so big, their desire to increase awareness of SNET and participation in leading countries such as Nigeria, Egypt, Rwanda, South Africa, and Cote d'Ivoire, that could cause them obstacles in their efforts. project management and administration. However, the group has a specific plan and close connections in the African technology community, so I think they can overcome difficulties and make the project feasible.
    2. Viability:
This project should be funded and developed over the long term to overcome the challenges posed by low awareness of SNET and limited participation in funding in Africa. The success of this proposal depends on building strong relationships within the technology community in Africa, and the team's emphasis on community education is valuable to the long-term success of the project.
    3. Desire:
Encouraging community participation in conferences/hackathons, easy access to SingularityNET resources, and the DeepFunding program are highly anticipated for the AI technology developer community in Africa.
    4. Usefulness:
The project helps promote the SNET and Deep Funding brands to expand their reach and impact in Africa. The project offers country-by-country approaches to innovation in Africa that help drive innovation and advanced AI applications within the SingularityNET ecosystem.
