Overview

An initiative to engage a wider community on metaverse platform Roblox by creating a gamified experience. Players will explore a virtual city where they can learn about the DF ecosystem, interact with NPC(non-playable-characters) for guidance, participate in in-game tasks and also take part in educational activities. There will be different areas in the metaverse city like an area allocated just for current, general and ongoing deep funding activities also having information regarding the previous rounds.Similarly an area area will be allocated for the awarded teams with their representatives presenting their awarded proposals which will also help in record keeping and transparency.

By creating an immersive metaverse experience on Roblox, we provide users with an accessible and interactive way to learn about Decentralized AI services and the opportunities available through DeepFunding. Through educational activities, gamified elements, and direct integration of DF,users will be empowered to explore, fund, and develop AI projects of their own because of the diverse Roblox Fanbase. 

The core problem we are aiming to solve

Limited awareness and engagement with the DeepFunding ecosystem among the general public, especially within virtual environments like Roblox.

Our specific solution to this problem

Developing an open-world metaverse experience within Roblox, where players can immerse themselves in a virtual city representing the DeepFunding ecosystem. Through interactive elements and gamified activities, players will learn about DeepFunding, its benefits, processes and how to participate in funding AI projects.

Project details

An initiative to engage a wider community on metaverse platform Roblox by creating a gamified experience. What is Roblox ?

Roblox is an all-in-one app where users can play a vast array of games, create their own experiences, and interact with others online. Billing itself as the "ultimate virtual universe," Roblox offers a diverse range of experiences where users can socialize, build virtual spaces, and even engage in virtual commerce. Popular games cover various genres such as roleplay, adventure, and obstacle courses, with some focusing on social interactions akin to virtual hangouts. While the platform is free, users can make in-app purchases within each experience, with a portion of the sales going back to the game's creator, enabling creators of all ages to earn money from their creations and taking user-generated content to new heights.

So why do we choose Roblox over other metaverse platforms available in the market? The answer is simple: it’s a free platform that has a great and vibrant community which keeps rising in numbers each year. The company recently reported that its users are “aging up.” In a letter to shareholders, Roblox reported that its fastest growing demographic is 17- to 24-year-olds.

Roblox is popular around the world. While players from the U.S. and Canada historically made up the largest share of its user base, the number of European players eclipsed U.S. and Canadian players last year. Today, there are about as many users in Asia as there are in the U.S. and Canada. 

 

Many people including students from all over the globe have heard something about Roblox or played games on this platform themselves. Accordingly, they have an idea of how things work. That is, it will be much easier to get acquainted with Roblox. Moreover, many people want to create their own games and even try to do it using the platform's tools.

Roblox offers a simplified mechanism for creating computer games. Everything is adapted in such a way that a child does not need much knowledge or experience to create their own product. But, at the same time, the child will be able to unleash his creative potential here.

The Lua language module, is used at the heart of the platform, which is simple and straightforward.

While there may be other educational experiences within Roblox, our project stands out due to its focus on decentralized AI services and the unique integration of DeepFunding. Our USPs include:

  • Different AI-based Models for lively experience

Our team

Team Size: 2
Slate 
(Project Lead,VR developer, modeler, and animator): Extensive experience in creating immersive virtual experiences.
Malik (VFX Expert, Designer, Graphics): Malik will contribute to the overall aesthetics and user experience of the DeepFunding metaverse experience.

Plus both of the above mentioned individuals are highly active in both SNET and Deep Funding communities with in-hand experience of developing metaverses and Project Leading.

Description of existing resources

We will leverage the robust development tools and resources available within the Roblox Studio environment to create the virtual city and interactive elements of the DeepFunding experience, Gitbook documentation of Deep Funding would be used for implementing in the metaverse.
Additionally, our team's expertise in VR development, modeling, animation, visual effects, and design will ensure that the project meets the highest standards of quality and immersion.

Milestone 1 - Brainstorm Design And Map Creation

Description

Creation/ Ideation of a general map design consisting of allocating certain locations for specific acitivities. This includes ideating of design through meetings and developing the virtual city structure representing the DeepFunding ecosystem after finalizing it.

Milestone 2 - Assets Avatars and Model Building

Description

This milestone include creation of Assets for Players Avatars representing deepfunding and also avatars for Awarded Team Leads. Creation of specific building models.

- Asset will be created for the players who participate in the game - Avatars for Awarded Teamleads and Deepfunding Representatives - Building representing Deepfunding as a whole

Milestone 3 - Info Collection Story line Setups and Animations

Description

This milestone include collecting information from deepfunding resources and also from the Awarded Teams. Then integrating that information to the respective NPC representing that specific piece of information.Then Setting up of story line cut-scenes.This milestone also includes creation of animations for NPC's and also creation of AI models inside of the VR which will help in making the experience feel more lively

    Prior to the review and rating period I have a question and a few suggestions. First, why do you believe this belongs in the Miscellaneous category and not say the New Project pool? Then for suggestions. I would explain things you may think everyone knows because it is second nature to you. Examples would be - what is NPC? and what is Roblox? You may want to go through and put a link or explanation. Good Luck!

      We haven't putted it in the New Projects as we are not utilizing or making a new Ai Service rather using gamification techniques to publicize Deepfunding to a whole different community Thanks for the suggestions :) will add explanations regarding those terms in the proposal

    The proposal is both educational and engaging

    The author has identified a specific audience and created a highly feasible proposal. It is not only useful in terms of supplementing knowledge but also makes participants interesting and not bored. Besides what the team has shown, I want to learn more: - Should we conduct a survey on the number of people interested in this proposal, especially when the Roblox product is promised to contain technology and be of great usefulness? - Is the team implementing any other proposals in parallel with this proposal? I'm afraid that if the team implements another proposal in DFR4, there will be a dispersion of personnel, leading to unsafe work quality?

    Equally important is the time factor

    To me, time is an important factor in implementing the proposal. Thus, when presenting the right proposal, the team should present the time element at each milestone. If you do that, the community will trust the team more, Slate_456!
    The proposal asking for $40,000 is not a small amount of money, so I seriously comment on the time factor that needs to be added. Hope the team looks into this.
    I agree with the impact and usefulness this proposal brings to the community. It's interesting and attractive.

    As the budgets are milestone based budgets that's why the time wasn't added but I do agree that it will maike the proposal more solid.

    Is there a staffing shortage?

    Initially, the author stated his intention to make users have direct experience on the application, experience the fun and especially participate in educational activities to improve knowledge. I support this proposal. Hopefully what it brings will help donors improve their knowledge and gain interest in attracting more communities. That's assuming the proposal is implemented well.
    But to accomplish such great things is not easy with a team of only 2 members as the author presents in the proposal. Will there be a shortage of deployment personnel? And why did the other member Malik not post a profile picture of a real person but instead chose a graphic character? I advise the team to complete the disclosure of resumes as fully as possible as soon as possible and balance the necessary personnel to implement this proposal in the most effective way.

    There is definitely not a shortage of Staff for the project. With prior experience of developing such experiences, that's all we need to put the project to completion with the mentioned objectives. 
    Regarding Malik's profile there's been an issue in updating profile on deepfunding websites that's why no pfp was changed

    Need a specific plan and a highly specialized team

    The idea is to make a virtual experience which showcase the working and workflows of deepfunding rounds while also keeping the interest factor consistent for the players .The project is not necessarily targeting younger audience but instead is going to be a platform for all end users taking part in deepfunding.
    In order to keep the interest factor consistent thorughout the experience different sort of gaming/ interactive activities will be added.
    Plus in regards to this team we have worked and also have in-hand experience in making similar experiences.

    Yup as Roblox has a fanbase of different age groups our first priority will be to keep 
    the experience interesting with different story line setups ,interative Models, Ai based models, and also cutscenes 
    which individuals from all age groups can enjoy.
