Ontology-Powered Decentralized Identity Hub

Overview

This proposal aims to research and design a Decentralized Digital Identity (DDI) Hub powered by Ontology Network, leveraging its interoperability, privacy-preserving identity solutions, and decentralized trust mechanisms. The research will explore how Ontology’s ONT ID framework can integrate with existing DDI solutions (e.g., Gitcoin Passport, Privado, Identus) and the SingularityNET ecosystem (Voting, DeepFunding, WaLT). It will also evaluate Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) KYC, sub-ID generation, and secure identity verification methods. The outcome will define a scalable and modular architecture for a unified DDI Hub, ensuring compliance, privacy, and seamless cross-chain identity management.

The goal of this project is to conduct research on solutions and requirements for a decentralized digital identity (DDI) hub tailored to the needs of the SingularityNET ecosystem and its reputation system. This will include research into how existing DDI solutions can be integrated into a single hub that will allow for the creation of reputation scores that can be tied to unique verifiable identities while maintaining privacy. Part of the RFP is the definition of 2 or 3 RFPs for development of the envisioned system. This RFP is closely connected to the Reputation Platform RFP, and should be guiding the data privacy and identity integration solution of that RFP.

Milestone 1 - Research & Requirement Analysis

Description

Conduct an in-depth analysis of existing Decentralized Digital Identity (DDI) solutions standards and frameworks. Identify integration requirements for Ontology's decentralized identity stack within the DDI Hub and its interoperability with SingularityNET components (WaLT Reputation System Deep Funding etc.). Define security measures privacy considerations and compliance with global regulations (e.g. GDPR CCPA).

Deliverables

1: Comprehensive report detailing existing DDI solutions (Gitcoin Passport Privado Identus etc.) and Ontology’s advantages. 2: Defined technical architecture and security framework for Ontology-powered identity verification. 3: Initial integration plan with WaLT Reputation System and SNET ecosystem.

Budget

$40,000 USD

Success Criterion

1: Completion of the research report and requirement documentation. 2: Stakeholder review and approval of integration feasibility.

Milestone 2 - Prototype Development & Technical Validation

Description

Develop a functional prototype integrating Ontology’s decentralized identity infrastructure into the DDI Hub. Implement key features such as unique verifiable identity creation Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) KYC verification wallet-linking mechanisms (WaLT) and data-sharing protocols with external services. Ensure modularity and scalability for future integrations.

Deliverables

1: Prototype demonstrating identity verification sub-ID generation and cross-chain interoperability. 2: Initial implementation of Ontology’s ONT ID for user-controlled self-sovereign identity. 3: API documentation and integration guidelines.

Budget

$50,000 USD

Success Criterion

1: Successful execution of identity verification using Ontology. 2: Prototype tested with WaLT and the SNET Reputation System. 3: Positive feedback from initial user testing and technical validation.

Milestone 3 - Full System Evaluation & Open-Source Release

Description

Conduct security audits performance testing and final refinements to the system. Release the codebase as open-source under the Apache License ensuring transparency community adoption and future development. Develop comprehensive documentation governance guidelines and final RFPs for scaling the system.

Deliverables

1: Security audit and compliance report. 2: Finalized architecture and implementation details. 3: Open-source repository with technical documentation. 4: RFPs outlining future development directions.

Budget

$30,000 USD

Success Criterion

1: System meets performance, security, and privacy standards. 2: Successful integration with SNET components and interoperability validation. 3: Codebase released with full documentation for community adoption.
