We'll challenge our team with crafting a dynamic educational program that seamlessly integrates online and in-person learning experiences, focusing on the convergence of AI and blockchain technologies. Central to our mission is instilling the values and responsibilities associated with the development of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) as a global public good. Our 4-month program will delve into critical themes like Global Ethics & Decentralized Governance, exploring tech's impact on politics and community.Partnering with an esteemed Argentine University and leveraging Fingurú's expertise, we promise a top-notch educational experience aligned with SingularityNET standards.

Proposal Description

How our project will contribute to the growth of the decentralized AI platform

The program will educate and foster the next generation of decentralized AI developers and innovators, and at the same time serve as a nerve center for the BGI development in the region. We intend to create a central hub, a hot-spot for talented and enthusiastic LATAM entrepreneurs and tech-creators that inspires them to innovate and create cutting-edge AI products for the SingularityNET decentralized marketplace and platform, a seed space for the future of AI technological innovation in LATAM.

The core problem we aim to solve with the program is the shortage of skilled professionals equipped to harness the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) within the Latin American region. Despite the growing demand for AI expertise across various industries, there is a lack of accessible and comprehensive educational programs that provide both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in AI development, application, and governance. This gap not only hinders the region's ability to innovate and remain competitive in the global AI landscape but also exacerbates disparities in technology adoption and socioeconomic development. By establishing a cutting-edge education program focused on AI, ethics, and decentralized governance, we seek to address this challenge by nurturing a new generation of AI leaders who are equipped to tackle complex societal issues, drive innovation, and contribute to the responsible development of AI technologies in Latin America and beyond.

Our specific solution to this problem

The Genesis LATAM @SingularityNET Decentralized AI LABS Program offers a unique solution by providing a comprehensive and interdisciplinary education in artificial intelligence (AI) tailored for the Latin American context. Our program combines technical expertise with ethical considerations and decentralized governance principles, addressing the pressing need for skilled AI professionals who can navigate the complexities of AI development and deployment responsibly. By integrating interactive learning experiences, gamification, and industry partnerships, we offer students hands-on training and real-world experience, preparing them to address societal challenges and drive innovation in diverse sectors. Through a combination of quantitative metrics and qualitative assessments, we ensure continuous improvement and accountability, fostering a culture of excellence and impact. With a focus on inclusivity, diversity, and sustainability, our program aims to empower the next generation of AI leaders who will shape the future of Latin America and contribute to the global AI ecosystem in a meaningful and responsible manner.

Project details

Following SingularityNET’s vision and mission as a guide, this program will serve as a hub for exploring and advancing AI applications and services, while instilling values of responsibility and ethical considerations in the development of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) as a common good.

The objective is creating a central hub, a hot spot for collective creative ideation. Harnessing the superpower of the LATAM Community’s spirit we will build together the core efforts for a bigger and more ambitious plan; creating a hive-mind of creative, innovative and cutting-edge creators.  

Following not the traditional educational system where information is forcely injected into supposedly empty students' minds, we will develop an unorthodox educational platform where students and teachers will be jointly learning, creating and mostly; doing. 

The LATAM SingularityNET Community core Team & Fingurú team up to design an educational program that integrates the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence and the traceability and transparency of Blockchain technology.

 

Program Objectives:

  1. Technical Proficiency: The program will provide comprehensive education in technical aspects of AI, including machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, computer vision, and robotics, among others. Students will gain hands-on experience through practical projects and workshops.

  2. Thematic Areas of AI Applications and Services: The curriculum will include diverse thematic areas such as healthcare, finance, agriculture, education, and cybersecurity, among others, enabling students to understand the diverse applications of AI and develop solutions tailored to real-world challenges.

  3. Values and Responsibilities of AGI Development: Emphasis will be on instilling ethical principles and responsibilities in AGI development. Students explore potential societal impacts and learn to prioritize values like fairness, transparency, and accountability.

  4. Global Ethics & Decentralized Governance: The program will incorporate modules on global ethics and decentralized governance models, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to navigate ethical dilemmas and contribute to the development of inclusive and equitable AI systems.

  5. Intersection of Technological Development with Politics and Community Development: Recognizing the multifaceted nature of technological advancements, the program will explore the intersection of AI with politics and community development. Students will analyze the socio-political implications of AI adoption and develop strategies for inclusive technology deployment.

Program Structure:

  1. Core Courses: Foundational courses covering essential concepts and techniques in AI, ethics, and governance.

  2. Electives: Specialized courses allowing students to explore specific areas of interest such as healthcare AI, financial AI, or AI for social good.

  3. Practical Projects: Hands-on projects and case studies to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems, fostering creativity and innovation.

  4. Seminars and Workshops: Guest lectures, seminars, and workshops conducted by industry experts and thought leaders to provide insights into emerging trends and challenges in AI.

  5. Internships and Industry Collaborations: Opportunities for students to gain practical experience through internships and collaborate with industry partners on research projects.

  6. DeepFunding Workshop: In the final program month, we'll host a workshop for crafting collaborative proposals for the DeepFunding program. We'll guide participants through writing, design, and production stages, creating an online platform for Spanish presentations. To incentivize competition and enhance the gamification learning experience, we propose the creation of a DeepFunding Workshop challenge.

  7. Retrospective: To close the proposal we’ll carry out a retrospective workshop with program participants, faculty, and industry partners to review achievements, challenges, and lessons learned. This will help us understand successes and improve future editions of the program.

Interactive Learning Experience and Gamification:

We propose integrating interactive learning enhanced with gamification, enriching students' educational journey by fostering engagement, collaboration, and creativity. This immersive environment transcends traditional classrooms, enabling students to acquire theoretical knowledge while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Empowering active student participation creates a dynamic, inclusive learning community dedicated to advancing responsible AI deployment. Together, we'll shape AI education in LATAM and beyond, fostering innovation, collaboration, and societal impact.

Tentative Schedule:

We have initiated discussions with potential educational institutions to form alliances for the initiative. If funded through the community vote, announced by the end of June, we will proceed with program development and logistics. The execution of the educational program is anticipated to commence in the second quarter of 2024, starting in early August 2024.

We have deeply learned about SingularityNET Ecosystem over the past years and its mission and vision on Decentralized AI. As core contributors to the Ambassadors program, our team has spent the past year engaging with the community and ecosystem leaders, gaining valuable insights into SingularityNET's vision and mission. 

To facilitate our efforts, we'll partner with a Private Sector University (TBD) and Finguru.

We will work with the resources generated in our first development of the LATAM SingularityNET Community, the results obtained and the alliances developed, strengthening links and generating new opportunities for SingularityNET and the ecosystem.

Our ally, Fingurú, a media outlet focused on education, innovation and freedom of expression, will give us not only the structure necessary to execute the ambitious program but a launching platform to amplify the message and purpose of SingularityNET and Deep Funding.

With strategic partnerships with key entities, including government bodies, universities, and private enterprises. Through these alliances, they provide tailored services such as in-company training, scholarships, master's programs, and insights into emerging technologies.

We’ll be conducting ME Mid-program Evaluations activities gathering feedback from stakeholders and analyzing evaluation results. Using survey tools data analysis and staff time for conducting evaluations. The objective of this evaluation process is to improve for the second phase of the program and create a successful program that can be replicated in the future in different regions.

1. @DeepFunding Workshop: Kickstart the @DeepFunding workshop where participants collaboratively develop proposals for AI-related research projects leveraging the program's resources and industry connections. 2. Using @DeepFunding platform template we propose the development of a platform version tailored for Spanish proposal and presentations offering students a dynamic medium to showcase their projects research findings and innovative ideas with @DeepFunding standards. This will be the birth of @DeepFunding LATAM? using only the ratings voting system connecting wallets without quantifying tokens we will use the existing system to give the winning team of the final workshop a prize equivalent to the Ideation phase pool prize 5000 becoming the winners of the DeepFunding Workshop form the AI Labs LATAM they will have the funds to develop the idea and be able to participate in the New Projects Pool.

    The product should be maintained regularly

    The team has high quality members and has affirmed its reputation for many years. This proposal, I predict, can attract a large number of participants thanks to its feasibility as an educational program, using thematic areas of AI applications and services.
    Good team, good technology, benchmark time is only 4 months but I believe this proposal will be successful. The work to be done and the program structure are in place for gradual implementation. I even can't wait for the product to launch.
