There are no personal limitations that prevent us from presenting ourselves in the next round of New Projects, since EkoCar is an innovative proposal with potential for growth and development, both in the communities and in the functionality of the app, which aims to transform urban mobility and contribute to a more sustainable future. In the next stage after the ideation phase, the complete development of the platform is intended with additional functions that will be part of the ideation study, such as integration with other city platforms that include other public or alternative means of transportation, such as bicycles, skateboards, among others. In addition, add contributions from users to identify green spots in cities on maps for waste management and collaborate in that sense or with other city systems that improve people's lives. Currently, we need to integrate a team with technicians who can contribute their vision and experience to the development of a successful application.

The core problem we are aiming to solve

Cities face a growing challenge in urban mobility: traffic congestion, air pollution, and a lack of efficient and accessible transportation options. Traditional transportation methods, such as private cars, significantly contribute to these problems, resulting in a negative impact on quality of life, public health, and the environment. Current carsharing platforms lack AI to improve the user experience, presenting a basic business model that simply serves as a link between users. Furthermore, they do not have a decentralized system for payments and incentives. Our competitors target users seeking medium to long-distance trips, without addressing short-distance travel.

EkoCar emerges as an innovative alternative for shared rides in Argentina, connecting transportation users in an economical and sustainable manner.

Market:

The global carsharing market is rapidly growing, with an estimated value of USD 13.6 billion in 2022 and projections to reach USD 50.2 billion by 2028.
EkoCar's decentralized and sustainable approach positions it to capture a significant share of this expanding market. In such a fast-paced market, each company works with a specific goal and region. In this sense, at EkoCar, we have been analyzing trends, some approaches, and products of certain companies that do carpooling in Latin American regions, in order to address unmet functional demands for shared transportation.
And in order to move forward with this project, we are starting now and including in the proposal a benchmarking study, in order to have an exhaustive analysis of key competitors, possible market gaps and best practices, as well as identifying unique selling points, strengths, weaknesses and identifying in detail EkoCar's competitive advantages. This highlights EkoCar's commitment to continuous benchmarking and market analysis.

EkoCar is based on a decentralized governance model through a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). This allows users to participate in decision-making about the future of the platform, encouraging community engagement and transparency in management. 

Milestones of the proposal:
1-Develop first version of the MVP. (Minimum Viable Product) of the EkoCar platform, with the essential functionalities for its operation. And benchmarking study.
2-Organize and execute the beta launch of the platform, including the selection and participation of limited testers. Acquire 20 users (both car owners and passengers, within the province of Mendoza, Argentina).
3-Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan to attract 500 initial users.
4-Establish collaborations and relationships with 3 companies (companies / institutions / organizations) as potential alliances to expand the reach and impact of EkoCar.
5-Scalability analysis to 3 other cities (initially in Argentina)

Challenges and opportunities: Our main challenge in the future will be to achieve mass adoption of the platform and expand our network of users and drivers. However, EkoCar has the opportunity to become a leader in sustainable mobility in Latin America, offering an innovative and attractive alternative to traditional urban trips. Thus:

-Prioritizing user acquisition and onboarding: We will develop a comprehensive strategy to attract and retain a diverse user base, including targeted incentives for early adopters.
-Ensuring data security and privacy: We will implement robust security measures and adhere to the highest standards of data protection to safeguard user information and build trust.
-Navigating regulatory considerations: We will proactively engage with relevant regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and address any potential concerns regarding blockchain technology and autonomous vehicle sharing.

    This is a solid and undoubtedly interesting proposal.     Great project but attention to people\'s safety.

    I would say this is a really important project for the moment we face as global community. Rgearding each of the categories to evaluate:

    • Faeasibility: I think is 90% feasible, as there are other apps that have similar use cases but different architecture. The most challenging may be the verification of the passengers or riders, specially in the LATAM territory due to safety reasons where the app may pilot first. I suggest you integrate a Biometric scanning system to unlock the rewards o something similar when passengers start the ride together. Also include a reputation system, again to enlarge security outcomes.
    • Desirability: People will always want to save money or time, starting from that point I think the desirability is also kind of solved. But, people would never put in risk their safety either so it something important to consider in order to scale the userbase.
    • Viability I think is a system already proved where inherent value is created as well as data that could be use further enough.

    Great proposal but very hard and competitive area

    I’ve seen a lot of Startups with very similar car-sharing ideas to this one. It’s an area where there is a lot of competition for a Market that might not be that big. These companies also usually face a lot of logistic problems, as it would be hard to coordinate these car share rides, and similar to having users putting car share opportunities with enough time and reliability to provide a useful service for both car owners and car share riders.

    Leveraging AI to solve the problem of connection between car owners and car riders, seems like a very interesting idea, but one that can be hard to execute and that might not be feasible. 

    There needs to be also an extremely enticing strategy to attract users to an eventual platform because in the beginning and without much data the utility of any platform would be limited. Maybe if there is a startup, with a lot of data gathered doing car sharing, an eventual partnership might be the best way to enter the market and train this AI model.

    Incentivization makes sense, but there is a need for a great tokenomics to make sure the incentives are worth something, as well as a lot of liquidity to allow for new users to cash out their incentives without having too much effect on the price.

    In some cities, users might have security concerns in giving rights to strangers, security concerns that will be something that needs to be addressed by the App. A way to minimize this issue is to choose a culture already familiar with ride-sharing, which I’m not sure if that is the case in Argentina?

    In terms of business model and revenue model, it would be something where the cost of running this API could be covered by the car riders, and with enough car riders this could probably still be a competitive service, although this would need to be researched more in depth.

    The inclusion of other means of transport such as bicycles and skateboards might be interesting, although the safety and practicality of such car riders could be a little bit tricky.

    The Team does seem to have put a lot of effort and research into this proposal and this problem which is extremely positive, and makes me more confident about their capacity to deliver positively on this proposal, and deliver positively on the whole project. Even though, it won’t be easy considering the overall competitiveness in the industry.

    There are some really important positions missing in the Team namely Blockchain Developers and Artificial Intelligence Specialists that will be crucial to the delivery of this proposal.
