Overview

The elderly healthcare monitoring (eHealthcare) system utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) is an innovative project aimed at revolutionizing the way healthcare is provided to the elderly population. In this project, we plan to analysis problem to define the scope of the eHealthcare system. More importantly, we research the way to build a training dataset using for AI models in the eHealthcare system.

The future proposal of the e-Healthcare system using AI holds great potential for the growth of our decentralized AI platform. During this phase, we will focus on researching anomaly detection problem in healthcare systems and planning the data collection process for the future project. The e-Healthcare system will expand the platform's capabilities by incorporating healthcare monitoring functionalities specifically tailored for the elderly. This will attract a new user base and increase the platform's market reach. Additionally, the project will generate valuable insights and knowledge about healthcare systems, which can be applied to other domains and industries using the decentralized AI platform.

The core problem we are aiming to solve

The core problem that the e-Healthcare project aims to solve is the need for continuous and proactive monitoring of the health and well-being of the elderly population. In this stage, we aim to research to define the scope of anomalies that the e-Healthcare system can monitor. More importantly, we need to research data collection techniques for this problem where elderly people can wear smart devices and which types of signal can be used for AI models to monitor abnormal stage of them.

Our specific solution to this problem

This project first needs the problem analysis and data collection tasks. We need to survey the integration of smart devices, the collected data from these devices as well as the utilization of AI algorithms for data processing and analysis. By leveraging AI technologies, we need develop a robust and intelligent e-Healthcare system that addresses the unique needs of the elderly in the next funding round. The decentralized AI platform will provide the foundation for this system, enabling efficient data processing, machine learning, and predictive modeling.

Project details

Here are the key components of the solution in this stage of the e-Healthcare system:

1.    Problem Analysis: This includes the foundation for developing targeted and effective solutions that address the specific needs of the elderly population. More importantly, we need to do the survey of Deep Neural Network for abnormal activity detection that can be applied for the Elderly Healthcare Monitoring System.

2.    Data Collection: The solution includes a robust infrastructure for collecting and storing the data generated by the smart devices. We need to define which types of information can be used to monitor elderly people for the e-Healthcare system.

Marketing activities: Effective marketing activities help create awareness about the project among the target audience. By promoting the project through various channels and mediums, such as advertising, social media, and content marketing, it ensures that potential stakeholders, including clients, investors, and the general public, are informed about the project's existence and value proposition

Identify the specific issues and challenges that need to be addressed such as gaps in current monitoring practices limitations in healthcare systems or barriers to effective care for the elderly population. 2. Conduct Research: Gather relevant information and conduct research on abnormal detection to detect abnormal actions of the elderly people. Review literature studies and reports to gain insights into the specific challenges and trends in elderly healthcare. 3. Define Objectives and Requirements: Based on the analysis define clear objectives and requirements for the e-Healthcare system.

Milestone 2 - Data Collection

Description

The data collection task in an elderly healthcare monitoring system plays a vital role in improving the quality of care and enhancing the well-being of the elderly population. Expected time to completion: 6 weeks

Deliverables

(1)Data Collection Techniques: Define signal types that can be collected from smart devices. Finding some techniques that can collect the data from smart decides from elderly people who volunteer for collecting data. We also need to find the public source of wearable device datasets. (2) Analyze Data: Analyze the collected data to identify patterns trends and key insights. Look for common health issues risk factors and challenges faced by the elderly population. Identify any gaps or shortcomings in the current monitoring practices or healthcare systems. (3) Collect about 1000 data samples for further experiments with AI models.

Milestone 3 - Marketing activities

Description

Marketing activities help attract and engage stakeholders who are crucial for the success of the project. This includes potential clients investors partners and collaborators. Expected time to completion: 2 weeks

Deliverables

(1) Website: A well-designed and informative project website serves as a central hub for project information updates and resources. It provides a platform to showcase project details success stories and contact information. (2) Social Media: Platforms such as Facebook Twitter LinkedIn and Instagram offer effective channels for reaching and engaging with a wide audience. Social media allows for sharing project updates news and relevant content as well as facilitating two-way communication with stakeholders. (3) Content Marketing: Creating and sharing valuable content through blogs articles whitepapers and videos can establish thought leadership demonstrate expertise and provide valuable insights related to the project. This content can be distributed through various channels including the project website social media platforms and industry-specific publications. (4) Email Marketing: Building and maintaining an email subscriber list allows for direct communication with project stakeholders. Email newsletters updates and announcements can be sent regularly to keep stakeholders informed about project progress events and opportunities for involvement.

    Is your focus on the service design for the elderly or on the anomaly detection AI ? Or equally on both? I think both are important but more challenges lay on the service design side. Old people are usually not that tech savvy. The devices and wearables they are able to use may be a bit limited which again impacts the data that they are able to generate. Yet another thing is of course people who are in the hospital/nursing home environments. Anyway, if you are able to come up with a service that is attractive to elderly people, it is a great step forward. As they face more health issues than the younger population, the system would be very beneficial to themselves as well as for the progress of science. I hope you can put together a comprehensive proposal for future funding rounds.

      In this project, we focus on detecting anomalies in health monitoring data for elderly individuals. The goal is to identify dangerous issues such as strokes, falls, and other health-related emergencies. Initially, we concentrate on data collected through wearable devices. Furthermore, we collaborate with healthcare experts to explore additional data sources that can be collected (and should be collected) for specific health anomaly detection tasks. Thanks!

    What is special about the specific impact?

    The team can clearly state the impact of this proposal on the community in general and the SNET community in particular. I recognize this as a unique and necessary idea. Implementation costs are not high. Overall it has a lot of plausibility and attracts people's interest in a positive way.

    Improves quality of life for elderly populations

    This project for me has a very clear focus and use case. It is targeted at improving the quality of life for elderly populations and while doing so, also contribute to advancements in healthcare technology. Another positives in that can be deduced here is that although this project is put in the ideation phase, the proposing team is keen on building a training dataset for their AI model. It further showcases the team's commitment to leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making and improve healthcare delivery for elderly individuals.

    Nowadays, everyone can own their own smartphone, and all smartphones have health monitoring applications. So using technology to monitor health in this project is very easy to do.

    Viability
    You have stated that you have expertise in this field, but your profile does not clearly show your experience and describe your specific expertise. This is a project that both applies technology and requires expertise in the medical field. So this is very important

    Desirabilty

    Although it is not difficult for us to deploy health monitoring on smartphones, applying it and deploying it to users who trust and use it is not easy. Although in the implementation plan you have listed 3 milestones to be implemented, including the communication part, it is difficult to evaluate its scalability and applicability.

    Usefulness
    I haven't really seen the possibility of being able to integrate the API into other systems as this is an area that requires a lot of expertise. So it will be difficult for this proposal to help develop a Decentralized AI Platform for the community.
