The goal of this project is to conduct research on solutions and requirements for a decentralized digital identity (DDI) hub tailored to the needs of the SingularityNET ecosystem and its reputation system. This will include research into how existing DDI solutions can be integrated into a single hub that will allow for the creation of reputation scores that can be tied to unique verifiable identities while maintaining privacy. Part of the RFP is the definition of 2 or 3 RFPs for development of the envisioned system. This RFP is closely connected to the Reputation Platform RFP, and should be guiding the data privacy and identity integration solution of that RFP.

Milestone 1 - AI Model & Biometric Algorithm Development

Description

The AI Model & Biometric Algorithm Development focuses on creating a decentralized fingerprint recognition system using AI-Enhanced Light Scattering. This involves designing, training, and optimizing deep learning models to ensure high accuracy, privacy, and resistance to spoofing attacks. Additionally, the milestone includes integrating Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) for privacy-preserving verification and deploying the model within decentralized identity frameworks.

Deliverables

The project will deliver a fully functional AI-powered fingerprint authentication system integrated with decentralized identity solutions such as ION, Ceramic Network, and Polygon ID. Key components include an AI model for feature extraction, a biometric-to-hash conversion mechanism, a Zero-Knowledge Proof module for authentication, an anti-spoofing security system, and API endpoints for Web3 applications. The deliverables also include performance reports on system accuracy, efficiency, and resilience against fraudulent fingerprint attempts.

Budget

$35,000 USD

Milestone 2 - Decentralized identity integration &smart contract

Description

The Decentralized Identity Integration and Smart Contracts milestone focuses on creating a secure and efficient framework for linking biometric authentication with decentralized identity solutions. This involves implementing Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs), Verifiable Credentials (VCs), and blockchain-based identity storage mechanisms, ensuring self-sovereign identity management. Additionally, the milestone includes the development and deployment of smart contracts to facilitate trustless identity verification. The integration will ensure compatibility with leading decentralized identity networks such as ION, Ceramic Network, and Polygon ID, providing users with seamless control over their digital identities without reliance on centralized authorities.

Deliverables

The project will deliver a fully integrated decentralized identity system that securely binds biometric authentication data with DIDs while leveraging smart contracts for automated and trustless verification. Key components include a DID registration mechanism, verifiable credential issuance, and a secure data storage protocol utilizing decentralized storage solutions like IPFS and Arweave. The smart contracts will be designed to manage identity verification requests, automate credential validation, and enforce privacy-preserving authentication using Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs). The deliverables will also include technical documentation, API endpoints for Web3 application integration, and compliance assessments to ensure alignment with decentralized identity standards.

Budget

$20,000 USD

Milestone 3 - Security Audits, Optimization and Compliance

Description

The Security Audits, Optimization, and Compliance milestone focuses on ensuring the integrity, resilience, and regulatory alignment of the decentralized biometric identity system. This involves conducting thorough security audits, optimizing performance for scalability, and ensuring compliance with global privacy and data protection regulations. The milestone will address vulnerabilities, enhance system efficiency, and establish a framework for ongoing security assessments.

Deliverables

The project will deliver a comprehensive security audit report identifying and mitigating potential vulnerabilities within the biometric identity system. Key components include penetration testing, smart contract audits, and Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) validation assessments to ensure cryptographic security. Optimization efforts will focus on reducing authentication latency, enhancing biometric accuracy, and refining system interoperability with decentralized identity frameworks. Compliance deliverables will include detailed documentation aligning the system with GDPR, eIDAS, and W3C DID standards. Additionally, a governance model for continuous security monitoring will be implemented.

Budget

$15,000 USD

Milestone 4 - ZKP Implementation and Testing

Description

The Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) Implementation and Testing milestone focuses on integrating advanced cryptographic techniques to enable privacy-preserving authentication within the decentralized biometric identity system. This involves implementing zk-SNARKs and zk-STARKs to verify identity without exposing sensitive biometric data. Additionally, the milestone includes rigorous testing to ensure efficiency, security, and seamless interaction with decentralized identity frameworks.

Deliverables

The project will deliver a fully functional ZKP-based authentication system integrated within the biometric identity verification process. Key components include the development of zk-SNARK and zk-STARK protocols, cryptographic proof generation mechanisms, and smart contract execution for trustless authentication. Testing will include adversarial attack simulations, computational efficiency assessments, and blockchain network validation to optimize gas fees and processing times. The deliverables will also include technical documentation detailing ZKP implementation, benchmark performance reports, and an interoperability framework ensuring compatibility with decentralized identity solutions like ION, Ceramic Network, and Polygon ID.

Budget

$10,000 USD
