Overview

Collabberry serves as a compensation tool designed for early-stage teams and DAOs. The initial step is building a bounty platform for short-term, risk-free engagements to be more stable, utilizing both Project Points and monetary rewards as compensation packages. This grant would facilitate the development of a proof of concept for this first tier of the model —an AI-powered bounty platform. It automatically suggests a fair price for bounties and utilizes the Collabberry protocol to balance and distribute a compensation package comprising both monetary rewards and Project Points.

Proposal Description

Company Name (if applicable)

Collabberry

How our project will contribute to the growth of the decentralized AI platform

Collabberry will serve as a proof of concept of the price-suggested bounty system, and also provide the solution to the AI Marketplace so that it can be used out of the box from others. Collabberry also brings standardized metadata standards of a bounty, so that interoperable solutions can be built on top of that.

The core problem we are aiming to solve

I am a founder of an initiative/company/campaign
I am trying to form a strong team to build our project
But I can’t reward the contributors fairly
Because I can’t measure value created
Which makes me feel blocked.

Our specific solution to this problem

Collabberry is a multi-tier compensation end-to-end solution for early-stage organizations, where they can both measure value, allocate resources, and find the right talent.

Collabberry is

  • leveraging transparency in compensation for fostering trust and equality

  • harnessing collective intelligence through peer-to-peer assessment

  • implementing a Minimum Viable Salary for meeting contributors' needs

  • embracing co-ownership to align incentives

  • leveraging Web3 technology for enhanced trust and fairness

Acknowledging the diversity of contributors within each team, Collabberry implements different tiers of contributors. This ranges from a bounty platform for short-term, risk-free engagements to more stable, long-term contributor positions, utilizing both Project Points and monetary rewards as compensation packages.

The scope of this grant proposal is for building the initial first step of the project - namely the AI-powered Bounty Platform. This bounty platform, built on top of the underlying Collabberry protocol, allows for a flexible and dynamic allocation of monetary rewards and Project Points, an on-chain asset representing ownership over the project. Where ownership is earned based on contribution, instead of speculation.

Project details

Collabberry serves as a compensation tool designed for early-stage teams and DAOs, with a primary goal of fostering fairness, trust, and aligning incentives among contributors and founders/core team members. It addresses a prevalent issue in both Web3 and Web2 teams: the challenge of diminishing contribution, conflicts, and breakdowns over compensation and ownership. Born out of a three-month research endeavor within the RnDAO fellowship, Collabberry aims to mitigate these issues. The paper can be found here: Compensation in early-stage teams

Collabberry Has Potential But Requires Careful

This project proposes Collabberry, a multi-tier compensation platform for early-stage teams and DAOs, with an initial focus on an AI-powered bounty platform. Here's a breakdown of its strengths and weaknesses:

    Feasibility:

    • Moderate-High: The project leverages existing blockchain and AI technologies. Complexity depends on the chosen AI model for fair price suggestions and the security of the Collabberry protocol.
    • Strengths: The concept builds on established technologies, and development can be efficient with clear technical choices.
    • Weaknesses: Developing a robust AI model for fair bounty pricing requires expertise and training data. Security of the Collabberry protocol for managing on-chain assets is crucial.

    Viability:

    • Moderate: Success depends on attracting early-stage teams and DAOs, establishing trust in the AI-powered pricing system, and ensuring a sustainable business model.
    • Strengths: The focus on a specific user group (early-stage teams/DAOs) with a known pain point (compensation) can be attractive.
    • Weaknesses: Competition from existing bounty platforms and freelance marketplaces, user adoption within the DAO and Web3 space, and long-term token value (Project Points) need to be addressed.

    Desirability:

    • Moderate-High: For early-stage teams and DAOs seeking a fair and transparent compensation solution, this can be valuable.
    • Strengths: The project addresses a critical need for fair compensation and ownership structures in these early-stage ventures.
    • Weaknesses: Building awareness and demonstrating the value proposition of Collabberry compared to existing solutions requires effort.

    Usefulness:

    • Moderate-High: The project can be very useful if it delivers an accurate AI model for fair pricing, fosters trust in the Collabberry protocol, and attracts a critical mass of early-stage teams and DAOs.
    • Strengths: Collabberry can potentially improve fairness, transparency, and team motivation in early-stage projects.
    • Weaknesses: The long-term impact on user adoption, effectiveness of the AI model for fair compensation, and the overall impact on team dynamics and project success needs evaluation.

    Additional Points:

    • A clear and secure user interface for managing bounties and Project Points is essential.
    • Transparency in how the AI model determines fair prices for bounties is crucial for building trust.
    • A well-defined path towards integrating the bounty platform with the later tiers of the Collabberry multi-tier compensation system is beneficial.

Collabberry has potential but requires careful planning and execution. Focusing on a user-centric design, building a robust and secure Collabberry protocol, ensuring a fair AI pricing model, and establishing a strong presence within the DAO and Web3 communities can increase the project's value.

Here are some strengths of this project:

    • Addresses a specific need for fair and transparent compensation in early-stage teams and DAOs.
    • Proposes an AI-powered bounty platform for short-term engagements with a dynamic compensation package (monetary rewards + Project Points).
    • Emphasizes transparency, collective intelligence, and co-ownership to align incentives within teams.

    Relatively high feasibility

It's interesting that in the team presentation, I saw two members with the same name. Is this true or does it need correction? Their names are both Milena Monova.
Let's come to 7 milestones presented quite professionally. It is still a proposal related to AI and I believe it is quite feasible through the team's presentation. In the project details, there is a quote from the article "Compensation in early-stage teams" proving that the team has done empirical work.
The problem now is to continue to perfect this proposal and then hopefully wait for approval.
