Overview

APRENDO bridges the digital divide in vulnerable Latin American communities through tech education. By integrating SingularityNET into our programs, we empower underserved individuals to engage with the SingularityNET platform, fostering a more democratic and decentralized AI ecosystem.

Proposal Description

How Our Project Will Contribute To The Growth Of The Decentralized AI Platform

Our project will grow the AI platform by educating Latam underprivileged communities about SingularityNET, thereby expanding its reach. Through SingularityNET-specific quests in #comunidadAPRENDO, participants will use the platform and earn rewards, gaining practical experience. Additionally, we will host SingularityNET Project Showcases to highlight and promote innovative projects, fostering greater knowledge and engagement with the platform.

Our Team

Our team excels in delivering tech education to vulnerable communities, with 36 successful #APRENDOcripto workshops across Latam. We specialize in engaging in-person courses and managing a vibrant online community using effective gamification strategies. Supported by a core team of 8 and regional instructors, we provide comprehensive hands-on training. All proposed activities extend our ongoing efforts, demonstrating our capability to continue this important work.

The core problem APRENDO aims to solve is the lack of blockchain and AI knowledge in vulnerable communities across Latin America, which limits their participation in the decentralized AI ecosystem. Despite increasing global interest, these communities are often excluded due to educational and resource constraints. This digital divide prevents socio-economic empowerment and inhibits the growth of a diverse, inclusive AI landscape. 

By providing targeted, in-person education on blockchain and AI technologies, APRENDO seeks to bridge this gap, empowering individuals to engage with and contribute to the SingularityNET platform, fostering a more democratic and decentralized AI ecosystem.

Our specific solution to this problem

APRENDO is a non-profit dedicated to bridging the digital divide in Latam by providing blockchain education to vulnerable communities. Our program #APRENDOcripto, offers in-person courses on personal finance, blockchain technology, and AI through workshops conducted in vulnerable areas across Latam. Graduates join #comunidadAPRENDO, an online community that promotes continuous personal and professional development through gamification.

Our solution includes:

1. Integrating SingularityNET into #APRENDOcripto Curriculum:

We will introduce SingularityNET modules, providing foundational and advanced insights into AI and blockchain technology. From August to December 2024, 20 editions will be conducted across 10 countries, impacting over 400 students.

2. Expanding #comunidadAPRENDO Through SingularityNET-Specific Quests:

We will implement a specialized SingularityNET track offering hands-on experiences, engaging 700 members with an expected completion of 400 quests. These quests include completing a survey on AI interests, setting up SingularityNET accounts, using AI services, and creating AI project proposals.

3. SingularityNET Project Showcases:

Six online showcases will highlight innovative projects within SingularityNET, connecting participants with the broader AI and blockchain community and inspiring new projects.

This approach enhances digital literacy, socio-economic empowerment, and digital inclusivity, aligning with SingularityNET’s mission of decentralized and democratic AI.

Introduction to APRENDO (formerly Proof of Integrity)

APRENDO is a non-profit organization, grantee of the Ethereum Foundation, committed to addressing the critical issue of limited blockchain knowledge and accessibility in vulnerable communities across Latin America. Despite the increasing interest in digital currencies and blockchain technologies, these communities often remain disconnected due to educational and resource constraints.

A cornerstone of our efforts is the #APRENDOcripto program, which delivers in-person blockchain education to underprivileged sectors. #APRENDOcripto is a cycle of 4 in-person workshops with theoretical and practical content, where participants learn about personal finance, blockchain technology, and artificial intelligence through self-organized learning pedagogical strategies.

Upon completing the program, graduates become part of #comunidadAPRENDO, our dynamic online postgraduate community. This community fosters social inclusion and ongoing personal and professional development. To enhance engagement, #comunidadAPRENDO utilizes gamification techniques and quests, making the educational process interactive and impactful. These strategies deepen participants' understanding and promote the practical application of skills.

Solution Overview: A Comprehensive Three-Part Strategy

APRENDO aims to increase awareness and foster the use of SingularityNET and its AI capabilities in underprivileged communities across Latin America. By introducing SingularityNET, we aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to participate in the decentralized AI ecosystem. Our strategic three-part approach includes:

  1. Integrating SingularityNET into #APRENDOcripto Curriculum - Enhances our curriculum with dedicated SingularityNET modules, ensuring participants receive foundational and advanced insights into AI and blockchain technology.

  2. Expanding #comunidadAPRENDO Through SingularityNET-Specific Quests - Leverages quest-based learning to provide practical, hands-on experiences with SingularityNET, helping participants apply their knowledge in tangible settings.

  3. SingularityNET Project Showcases - Online showcases highlight innovative projects within the SingularityNET ecosystem, inspiring participants and connecting them with broader blockchain and AI community initiatives.

Each element of this strategy enhances knowledge and fosters practical engagement, ensuring participants are equipped to contribute to and benefit from the digital economy. This approach promotes socio-economic empowerment and increases digital inclusivity across Latin America.

Part 1: Integrating SingularityNET into #APRENDOcripto Curriculum

To broaden our educational scope, #APRENDOcripto will integrate dedicated SingularityNET modules into the curriculum. This addition provides students with a foundational understanding of SingularityNET’s principles, history, and ecosystem, enhancing their learning journey and preparing them for practical applications.

Scheduled Rollout

From August to December 2024, we will roll out 20 editions of #APRENDOcripto across 10 countries in Latin America, impacting over 400 students from underserved communities with valuable SingularityNET insights through in-person sessions tailored to their local environments.

Part 2: Expanding #comunidadAPRENDO Through SingularityNET-Specific Quests

Expanding Practical Engagement

Our #comunidadAPRENDO initiative has successfully implemented a quest-based learning framework, currently featuring seven active economic incentivized learning challenges (quests) on our Discord server. These quests have provided participants with hands-on experience in navigating the AI and blockchain ecosystem in a risk-free environment. Each quest is meticulously managed to ensure effective incentive distribution and participant engagement.

Through this proposal to DeepFunding, we are actively seeking funding to significantly expand our practical engagements focused specifically on the SingularityNET ecosystem. 

SingularityNET Quests: A Specialized Learning Pathway

Building on the dynamic learning environment of #comunidadAPRENDO, we are introducing a specialized SingularityNET track. This new track will offer practical, hands-on experiences using SingularityNET. Over the next six months, we plan to engage 700 members of the #comunidadAPRENDO in this track, anticipating that approximately 100 members will complete four quests, resulting in a total of 400 completed quests. The structured pathway for the SingularityNET track includes:

  1. Quest 1: Survey Form for Interests and AI Usage
  2. Quest 2: Setting Up a SingularityNET Account and Exploring the Platform
  3. Quest 3: Understanding and Using AI Services on SingularityNET
  4. Quest 4: Creating a Simple AI Project Proposal

Rewards and Real-World Application

To motivate and reward active participation, members completing each quest will receive incentives in AGIX, linking educational achievements with real-world applications and benefits. These rewards not only encourage continued engagement but also provide practical experience in managing digital assets within the SingularityNET ecosystem. 

Importantly, this financial support can be particularly beneficial for our participants who come from contexts of vulnerability, helping to alleviate some economic pressures and empowering them through financial inclusion in the digital economy.

Part 3: SingularityNET Project Showcases

Alongside the other initiatives, we plan to host 6 online "SingularityNET Project Showcases." These showcases are intended to be dynamic platforms where a variety of innovative projects within the SingularityNET ecosystem will be invited to present and share their initiatives and achievements.

These events will offer our wider audience and #comunidadAPRENDO members opportunities to delve deeper into the SingularityNET world. They will learn directly from the experiences and insights of various project leaders and contributors in the ecosystem. This interaction is designed not only to enhance their understanding of the diverse applications and potential of SingularityNET technology but also to inspire and possibly ignite their own innovative projects within this vibrant ecosystem.

By participating in these upcoming showcases, members will be exposed to the latest developments, creative ideas, and collaborative opportunities within the SingularityNET community. This experience is expected to enrich their blockchain and AI education and open new avenues for engagement and innovation.

APRENDO's proposal aligns with DeepFunding’s mission by providing SingularityNET-specific education and practical experience to Latin America's underprivileged communities. We would like to share some of the strategies we have implemented and planned to address these concerns: 1. #comunidadAPRENDO Upon graduation, participants don't end their journey with us; instead, they join #comunidadAPRENDO, a continuous learning community that offers ongoing personal and professional development opportunities. This community provides access to advanced courses through a learn2earn program called #criptoIMPULSO, which incentivizes continued participation by rewarding members for completing specific educational challenges. We will include AI-related courses in this program. 2. SingularityNET-Specific Quests: We will introduce a set of SingularityNET-specific quests within #comunidadAPRENDO, offering hands-on experiences and practical engagement with the SingularityNET platform after the workshops themselves. These quests include activities such as completing surveys on AI interests, setting up SingularityNET accounts, using AI services, and creating AI project proposals. 3. Continuous Support and Mentorship: Our program includes mechanisms for ongoing support and mentorship.     Important idea and great team

    The innovations required to solve the problems we will face shortly will not come from established markets. Vulnerable populations around the world will be the first to feel the real impact of climate change and all its ramifications, and they should be empowered to find solutions to these problems. 

    This initiative is taking an essential step in this direction by bringing blockchain technology to the edges, to marginalized populations that would benefit enormously from access to the solutions that blockchain technology creates. 

    Lack of access to financial services, certainty in commercial transactions, etc., are all problems these communities deal with every day and are in the best position to solve, but not without having access to these kinds of services. These projects are the building blocks to the massive adoption of next-generation technologies like AI and blockchain. 

    If we are truly committed to the principles of benevolent, decentralized artificial intelligence and the use of blockchain for the betterment of all, not just a privileged few, it is our duty to strongly advocate for and support these initiatives in underserved areas. 

    It is crucial to acknowledge the significant impact that this team has already made in empowering underserved communities. Their achievements, though not without challenges, are a testament to their capacity and unwavering belief in their mission, inspiring us all.

    Overall, it is a solid proposal with a noble purpose and a committed and experienced team responsible for its delivery.

    Consider creating a learning environment

    In the APRENDO project, I noticed a few problems as follows. While integrating SingularityNET into training programs can create opportunities for communities under pressure, careful consideration needs to be given to creating a fun and engaging learning environment. At the same time, increasing awareness through Showcase Projects can also face difficulties in attracting participation and creating real value for community members.

    On the other hand, I think that although the project has the potential to bring value to the community, ensuring long-term profitability and sustainability also needs to be carefully considered. This is especially important in the context of a non-profit organization like APRENDO. However, with the experience and resources available, I believe the project can overcome these challenges and create a positive impact on the Latin America community.
