The current education model in Africa is outdated and ill-equipped to prepare graduates for real-world challenges. Many rely on government jobs rather than creating their own opportunities, as traditional schooling offers little to no encouragement for independent thinking or innovation. To address this, we are building a community focused on leveraging AI to drive innovation in the EdTech sector. Our goal is to develop and implement AI-driven solutions that modernize education in Africa, empowering young people to think creatively and embrace entrepreneurial opportunities.
We are seeking individuals to lead and manage Deep Funding Community Hub initiatives. These initiatives aim to establish and foster decentralized Deep Funding Communities centered around specific topics or areas of interest where a dedicated community would be valuable.
Examples of potential hubs include:
The primary objective of these Community Hubs is to expand Deep Funding in a decentralized way. This involves engaging new members, providing information, sharing best practices for submitting funding proposals and building strong, collaborative communities. Regular online meetings will also be an integral part of these initiatives to connect, grow, and support the community.

Over the first two months, the focus will be on building a community through various initiatives. This includes the creation of official social media accounts on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, along with targeted outreach campaigns aimed at recruiting at least 200 initial members from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, at least three online forums will be organized on platforms like Discord, Reddit, or Slack, which will be actively moderated. To promote engagement, 2 live Q&A sessions or webinars will be hosted within these forums during this period.
By the end of Month 2, the primary deliverable will be a robust online community presence that effectively engages its members. This includes fully functioning social media accounts with a target of at least 500 followers across all platforms. Additionally, a member database should be established, comprising at least 200 registered active participants. This deliverable aims to solidify the foundation for ongoing interactions and participation within the community.
$4,000 USD
Success will be measured through several key criteria: achieving recruitment of at least 200 active members who engage in forum discussions and events; reaching a total of at least 500 followers across all social media platforms.
Over the course of months 3 to 4 orchestrate a comprehensive plan to host 2 virtual workshops and 1 in-person meetup focused on the application of AI in education providing participants with valuable insights and opportunities for skill enhancement.
Achieve successful execution of these events by ensuring that each workshop and the meetup are not only conducted seamlessly but also provide attendees with tangible takeaways and resources related to AI in education.
$4,000 USD
The success criteria for the workshops and meetup include hosting two virtual workshops with a minimum of 50 attendees each and a cumulative attendance of at least 100 participants, along with an in-person meetup attended by at least 30 community members. Additionally, at least 60% of attendees should actively engage in discussions and ask questions during the events. Finally, feedback should be collected from at least 80% of participants through surveys, with the goal of achieving a satisfaction rating of 4 out of 5 or higher regarding the quality and relevance of the content delivered.
By the end of the month the project will successfully develop and distribute a series of educational materials including 4 comprehensive guides and 3 instructional videos aimed at enhancing community knowledge and engagement.
Deliverables will include 4 guides (each consisting of 10-15 pages) covering various relevant topics and 3 videos (5-7 minutes each) demonstrating key concepts. All materials will be made available on both the project website and through community social media channels.
$800 USD
The success of the content development will be measured by achieving a minimum of 300 total downloads of guides and 200 views of the videos within the first month of release, as well as collecting feedback from at least 50% of users, targeting a satisfaction rating of 4.5 out of 5 or higher regarding the usefulness and clarity of the materials.
By the end of Month 6 the project will allocate 1200 in funding and mentorship to at least 5 community-led AI initiatives providing each project with 240 along with targeted guidance sessions scheduled bi-weekly focusing on project development strategy and implementation.
The deliverables will encompass the successful initiation and development of these 5 projects with each project expected to produce a detailed project plan and perform baseline assessments along with achieving identifiable milestones by the end of Month 6 ensuring that all initiatives are aligned with community needs and AI best practices.
$1,200 USD
Projects will be assessed on their completion rates, with a target of at least 80% of the funded initiatives demonstrating measurable impacts, such as reaching a minimum of 100 community members, receiving feedback from at least 30 participants, and achieving an average satisfaction rating of at least 4 out of 5 regarding project effectiveness and community relevance.
