How Our Project Will Contribute To The Growth Of The Decentralized AI Platform

WSEEDS will introduce Agrochat on SingularityNET, targeting small farmers overwhelmed by complex technologies. This user-friendly tool simplifies their interaction with advanced AI, enhancing traceability and access to scientific analyzed data services tailored to their agricultural contexts. We are 3 co-founders and our team consists of 10 dedicated professionals who are committed to revolutionizing agriculture in Latin America. We are comprised of experts in technological innovation, mainly scientific founders physicists, an anthropologist with whom we study the adoption of the tool, engineers, financial experts, AI & Blockchain developers, and designers. Small-scale farmers, who produce over 70% of the world's food supply, often rely on outdated agricultural practices with minimal innovation for decades. They face organizational challenges, lacking structured insights into expected harvests, real production costs, and optimal fertilizer usage. This lack of modern technology and data-driven decision-making leads to inefficiencies and diminished sustainability in their operations. Additionally, as consumer demand for food transparency intensifies, these farmers struggle to meet traceability standards in the supply chain. Inadequate traceability and inefficiencies contribute significantly to food loss globally, with an estimated 34% of the agricultural production lost, particularly in countries like Colombia & Peru. The absence of adequate tools to track produce from seed to table, and lack data analysis not only undermines their market competitiveness but also erodes consumer trust in the agricultural sector, exacerbating the global issue of food security.

I would like to comment that while using WhatsApp for the interface may be convenient for many farmers, there may still be concerns about accessibility for those who do not have access to smartphones or reliable internet connections. Ensuring accessibility across different demographics of farmers will be important for widespread adoption. Good luck with this !

    You don’t provide much information about how you're going to design the recommendation system. Do you have any preliminary architecture in mind? What do you mean when the AI service on the SNET platform takes inputs via conversational interface? It will obviously enable natural language explanation (as shown in the demo video) but does it introduce any inflexibilities? What if the agent that calls your service is another AI agent or one just has data in the spreadsheet? What if it is an automated control system of sensors with pictures and metadata? I just recently watched a video of an interesting project that is about an automated farming rover able to carry a wide set of customizable sensors in it. I think for a recommendation system like this, it is important to utilize all the available information possible. If you are building the AI in-house, it shouldn’t be any problem to do this.      Secondly, in the final milestone you say “seamless interaction and data flow between the platform and the AI services provided by SingularityNET”. Are there already some services on the SNET marketplace you are going to integrate?    Finally, any estimated timeline for the project?     Empowering smallholder farmers is one of my favorite topics in blockchain/AI and I truly hope this project alongside all your partners in the ecosystem will succeed!

Utilizing modern AI to assist farmers is an excellent concept. The provided links suggest that they possess the knowledge and expertise to extend their system into the SNET marketplace. However, their plan to use OpenAI's AI doesn't align with Singularity Net's vision.

    Empowering Farmers with AI and Blockchain

    This, in my view, is an innovative agricultural technology. Artificial intelligence and blockchain technology are integrated into this platform to ensure transparency, efficiency, and long-term gains for smallholder farmers. To do that, a practical interface was combined with very efficient digital expertise to enhance its marketability. Last but not least, Agrochat supports farmer self-sufficiency, productivity growth, and global food security.

I studied Mechanical Engineering at Universidad de los Andes and had significant experience in the energy sector starting as an intern and then becoming a territory manager for fuels and lubricants in Colombia, where I had the opportunity to start carrying out energy efficiency projects. Then I decided to turn my career around and did an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems at Queen Mary University of London in 2017 where I was able to develop clean hydrogen technology as an energy resource.     It\'s a big benefit, but got a big budget.

    Providing solutions to the difficulties that farmers often encounter in the use of agricultural tools is a great idea. Improving knowledge of the correct and effective use of tools will improve agricultural yields well with the support of the WSEEDS. The WhatsApp platform was chosen because it was easily accessible by farmers, and it greatly helped the development of this proposal.

    A very good proposal for farmers in particular and for the agricultural system in general. Applying AI to agriculture is one of the topics that has received the most attention for a long time. The problem with this proposal is that we need to specifically consider whether OpenAI is really suitable for SNET's stature. In fact, SNET's interest or focus on technology is superior. is high, and OpenAI is equally good, but to be sure, you should use analysis and comparison to take advantage of the best of both worlds.

    As success stories, we have worked with exporters of mangoes, producers of oranges, rice, soy, and blueberries, cocoa & coffee. We are currently starting a pilot project with the largest export company in Colombia, which sells 4% of the world's bananas and has 2400 associated producers. Agrochat is currently at a TR7 technology development stage, and we are validating our tool in the market. Therefore, the project budget is mainly aimed at reaching TRL9 and scaling our service to over 50,000 users within the first year of operation.

    Regarding our marketing strategy, we are working on a B2B strategy with producer associations, guilds, and large agricultural companies, and then we will roll out our B2C strategy for any small or medium producer.     Experience: I am a person motivated by generating a positive social and environmental impact. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Universidad de los Andes and had significant experience in the energy sector starting as an intern and then becoming a territory manager for fuels and lubricants in Colombia, where I had the opportunity to start carrying out energy efficiency projects. Then I decided to turn my career around and did an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems at Queen Mary University of London in 2017 where I was able to develop clean hydrogen technology as an energy resource. In my return to Colombia I decided to start my business in agriculture by linking up with small and medium producers, distributing their products in the B2B channel and working under fair trade, making the supply chain more efficient. During this process I have managed to work as a consultant in digital transformation and carbon emissions reduction projects.     For me, I would say that the Agrochat platform streamlines data logging, documentation, and analysis, leading to improved efficiency in farm management. This allows farmers to make data-driven decisions and optimize their operations for increased productivity. This is welcomed approach in the field of agriculture and in the quest for food sustainability.
